You Don't Need a Gym!

As we see more and more businesses close, panic is setting in for many people, especially regular gym-goers. If you’re one of these people, then you should take comfort in the fact that the average person can get fit and stay fit in the confines of their home. Some highly effective at-home workouts include:
Burpees - you don’t have to do 100. Start with a set of burpees that will be challenging but doable based upon your fitness level. Then follow it up with the same number of squats, push-ups, sit-ups, and mountain climbers. You can repeat this set several times for a great total body workout!
If you hate burpees, then find another bodyweight movement that you enjoy. Bodyweight squats can be a great replacement for the burpees in the workout listed above.
By implementing isometric holds into your bodyweight workouts, you can challenge yourself even more. This means that if you do a squat, you should hold at the bottom for a few extra seconds to let your muscles stay under tension for a longer period of time.
You don’t need anything but your body weight to exercise, but if you want to add variety, a few common items around the house can help you out. A chair can be used to support your squats and work your upper body with tricep dips. If you like to lift weights, use a broom to practice squats to help your perfect your form before you can get back into the gym. If you want a bit of weight, hold gallon jugs of water when you do squats or lunges.
