You Don't Need A Career To Succeed!
Here I am sitting in my terrace, sipping a cup of tea and watching the sunset in all it's glory and enjoying every minute of my life! If you had asked me as to what I was doing at the same time two months ago, I would say travelling by bus back home from work feeling lethargic, irritated, hungry and angry!
I used to spend six hours a day travelling to work and back home! I wondered if this is what life was all about? I wanted to live my life travelling to different places and experiencing new cultures and living life to it's fullest! So, I decided to quit my job. After I had applied for my resignation, the HR comes up to me says, "We are really disappointed in you, we want more Women to succeed". After hearing to this statement, I just nodded my head but inside I was exploding, "Really?!" "So you measure someone's success by this and wasn't that a sexist comment?!". Then, I thought there was no point in arguing with her and maybe that's her perception about life.
If you would ask me if I have succeeded in my life, I would say a 100% yes! After my resignation, I have traveled to 5 different countries and experienced 5 different cultures. I have also learnt to drive a car. If I hadn't taken the initiative to quit my job, I wouldn't have achieved any of this! Life is all about setting your own goals and achieving them. Hope each one of you realize this and I wish you all the success in your life!
PS: To all those of you sitting at your desk on a Monday morning and feeling lethargic, this article is for you! ;)

8 年Career, Success and Happy Life are very relative terms and different for every individual but how you balance that is more important. As Arshia Ariff says if you had not worked before you must have not saved for 5 countries . So " We need to think How to make ourselves "Happy" along with Successful career ( this can be relative not only monetary term but enjoying work) , if you are working in NGO but you are happy and your BASIC needs are taken care!!! may be GREAT career!!
