You don't have to be small to be a black sheep

You don't have to be small to be a black sheep

When your focus is on working with organisations in creating incredible environments in which teams thrive, and teams to thrive on those cultures - top down, bottom up, and everything in between - you keep your eye out for people doing things a bit differently.

Indeed our #Culture16 and #Culture17 Summits (#Culture18 is in May 2018 in Sydney) are focused not only on company culture but also DISRUPTIVE LEADERSHIP.

No, that doesn't mean being a nightmare leader, disrupting everyone's workflow and sanity along with it - it means leading with your culture at the front of your strategic agenda and attuning it through every facet of your organisation, every day.

It means leading without following the herd, being decidedly not mass market and beige, but instead creating your own unique company culture, whether the company is large or small, start-up or long-established. And in doing so reaping the rewards by attracting and keeping high performing engaged teams, creating raving fan customers, and improving business performance and results.

Martin Creighan, MD of AT&T was our keynote in Sydney this year. His tireless focus on the culture of such a huge organisation proves you can make a difference, regardless of size.

Cassandra Gibbens of Service NSW, our keynote in NENW this year, also shared with us her experience of whole of business transformation in creating an organisation with 97% customer satisfaction rating and the most engaged employees across the whole of NSW Government.

Think you're too big to change your culture and be the black sheep? You're not.

To prove it, here's another big company, changing the way things are done and shaking up the culture. Starbucks have recruited a Chief BoomBoom - in other parlance a senior vice president and entrepreneur in residence. The position is a first at the Seattle-based coffee giant and you can read about it here

It's focus is "bringing the energy and passion of a startup inside the rhythm of a large corporation."

How's that for disruptive? Love it.
