You don't have to be one in a million

Hey friends,
Here's a secret few people in the writing world are willing to say out loud. But I'm going to say it:
Being a successful B2B writer is rarely about your writing skill. It's mostly about your thinking skill.
Good B2B writers are good thinkers. They're logical and strategic. They know how ideas fit together, and how to progress from one idea to another.
Sure, they're using words to do that. That's a foundational requirement of being a writer. But the thinking part is why such a higher percentage of B2B writers deliver such a higher percentage of value for the companies they write for.
Here's what I mean:
There are millions of writers with a passion for writing fiction. And one in a million will get J.K. Rowling's book deal. (She was the 1 in that 1,000,000).
But there are hundreds or thousands of B2B writers making a living from the writing they do. It's not 1 in 1,000,000 making a good living in-house or freelance over here. It's the majority of people who try hard enough and stick with it long enough.
How cool is that?
Which brings me to something we're going to do in the new year to keep hacking away at that secret. We're going to profile active B2B writers who are out there working for themselves, for companies, or somewhere in between. We want to show everyone that B2B writers come in all shapes, sizes, career histories, and specializations. And there's room for everyone in this space.
It'll look something like this:
What do you think? Are you interested in learning more about your peers in B2B writing?
Love,
Sarah
