??? You Don’t Have to Have It All Figured Out to Move Forward ??♀???

Let me ask you something—how many times have you found yourself stuck, waiting for the “right time” to start something? Whether it’s a new fitness routine, career move, or even making changes to your diet, the idea of needing to have it all figured out first can be paralysing.

We’ve all been there. Standing still, overwhelmed by the idea that every step must be meticulously planned. But here’s the truth: you don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward.

?? Why We Wait for Clarity

Many of us have a habit of waiting for the perfect moment to make a change. You might think, “I’ll start when I have more time,” or “I’ll wait until I feel confident about what I’m doing.” But let me break it to you—the perfect moment rarely arrives. And even if it does, waiting for everything to fall into place can leave you missing countless opportunities to grow and transform your life.

That desire for clarity is really just fear in disguise. Fear of failure, fear of looking silly, or fear of the unknown. But guess what? Clarity comes with action, not the other way around.

?? Progress, Not Perfection

Let’s talk about progress over perfection. If I’ve learnt one thing as a fitness and mindset coach, it's that taking even the smallest step forward is better than standing still. Think of it like building muscle—your strength doesn’t come from one perfect workout. It’s the consistency over time, even on days when you don’t feel like you’re doing it right, that makes all the difference.

It’s the same with life. You don’t need to have every step planned. You just need to start. Take action, learn from it, adjust as you go, and trust that you’ll figure things out along the way.

?? Moving Forward Builds Confidence

Here’s the beauty of moving forward without all the answers—you build confidence. Every time you take a step, no matter how small, you prove to yourself that you’re capable of handling whatever comes your way. And with each step, the path becomes clearer.

This is exactly what I tell the women I coach: you don’t need to know everything about menopause, fitness, or nutrition to start transforming your life. Whether it’s lifting weights for the first time or learning to manage hot flushes naturally, the key is to just begin.

When you make that first move, you’re already ahead of those still stuck in the waiting zone.

?? The Power of Imperfect Action

There’s something empowering about embracing imperfect action. It shifts your mindset from “I need to get this right” to “I’m learning as I go.” That’s when true growth happens.

It’s okay to take a step without knowing exactly where it will lead. It’s okay to be unsure, to make mistakes, to pivot. The only thing that’s not okay is staying in the same place because you're waiting for the stars to align.

?? Moving Forward in Perimenopause and Beyond

Especially for women over 40, like myself and the women I coach, this idea is crucial. Our lives are changing. Our bodies are changing. But we don’t need all the answers to take control of our health and mindset.

Start with small, manageable actions:?

???♀? Add a strength training session to your week.?

??♀? Begin a daily mobility routine to improve flexibility and reduce stiffness.

???? Make simple shifts in your diet—one high-protein meal at a time.

These steps don’t need to be perfect. What matters is that you’re moving forward, growing stronger, and building momentum.

?? The Takeaway

Life isn’t about having it all figured out before you start. It’s about starting, even when you feel unsure. Whether it’s your health, mindset, or goals, the secret to success is movement, not mastery. So take that step today, however small, and trust that you’re exactly where you need to be.

Your future self will thank you.
