It really bothers me that people go through life with an average mindset. Yes, it really bothers me. How can you go through life and don't want to achieve your full potential? Why do people not want to work hard and make great progress in finances but also in personal development? These are questions I asked myself and I found out the following:
People are lazy -- generally people are lazy. They only do just enough. Being lazy is being entitled. You think you are entitled to wellfare or a job or respect. People these days say "If you want respect, first be nice to me". Come on! If you want respect WORK YOUR A$$ off and then come talk about respect. If you want respect then show you are worthy of respect. Don't bitch around to everybody and expect to get respected, a job or wellfare. You are responsible and you are also responsible for your own lazy state. People that are lazy are being enabled to be lazy. They hang around with people that don't have put much tought in their career or on their goals. You are who you hang around with. Choose your friend wisely.
People are insecure -- people are afraid to speak out. They feel like their opinion doesn't count and they have nothing to add. This is crazy. Everybody has a specific skill, knowledge or gift to offer to the marketplace. Don't be insecure. Set yourself open to critisism and ridicule. Everybody that's public will receive some hate. It's part of the deal. When you stick your head above the hayfield you will be seen. People that are insecure will try to bring you down to their level. Don't take the bait. Keep on course and achieve any goals you set for yourself. May it be public speaking or anything that's public or private.
People have limiting beliefs -- "average joe" thinks that greatness or success is not for him. He thinks that success is for a small amount of people that already have money and joe thinks that these people are greedy and will never share the secret of wealth. There's a reason why he's called average joe. He's limiting himself by his beliefs. Most of the millionaires in the world are self-made millionares. They told to themself each and everyday that they are worthy of wealth and they did whatever it takes to achieve success. Yes it is a hard process and yes you will find out how tough you are, but it's a great process and it's for everybody. There are millionaires that came from nothing but dirt broke environments. They needed to make a mind-shift.
Hang around the wrong people -- you know you are hanging around with the wrong crowd if you are the one with the biggest goals, dreams and bank account. Find people that are like-minded or better; greater than you are. You get inspired by each other and that's very important. Going out every weekend surely is fun for a while... until you are broke and it doesn't seem so fun anymore when you get all the stress in your face about money, your job and feeling like you have no goals.
So, are you doing whatever it takes or are you one of the 95% of people that are OK with doing just enough and live paycheck to paycheck? It depends on what you would like. Want to worry about money and be frustrated about never doing what you truly like to do? Sure, then be one of the 95%. If you don't want to be avarage, then please join the 5%, but you will only come there when you do WHATEVER IT TAKES.
