ARE YOU DOING EVERYTHING EXCEPT WHAT YOU NEED TO BE DOING?
"I'd like five more speaking opportunities to get in front of decision-makers who invite me to speak and provide One Belief Away? workshops at their company.
I'm posting on social media daily, creating excellent content for my How To Be Mesmerizing podcast, and sharing dozens of glowing testimonials from top company Presidents, HR Directors, Sales Managers, and high-achieving entrepreneurs.
I've updated my website, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and Tiktok profiles and invested money into Google, Facebook ads, and SEO. Yet, I'm not gaining enough traction. So why isn't this working?"
That is a conversation I had with myself a few months ago.
So I reached out to my brilliant marketing friend Micah for help because individuals rarely attain impressive goals alone.
That last statement is so important I'm going to repeat it.
"Individuals rarely attain impressive goals alone."
We need support, reassurance, ideas, feedback, and someone to help us see blind spots when pursuing a worthy goal, or we end up going in circles.
Micah listened to the conversation I just shared with you (because we will desperately share it with anyone who will listen) and stopped me.
"Tim, that's not where you should be spending your time. You are a gifted networker. It's incredible how you've managed to make contact with and befriend legends in your profession. These people are unreachable, and you somehow got past ALL the gatekeepers.
They've given you their time and talent, which would have cost others millions of dollars, and let's be honest, it's not because of your online presence. You don't have a million people following you on Instagram, so they are more interested in you than your reach.
Invest 90% of your time networking with others and working with your circle of influence to secure speaking opportunities and consulting gigs rather than doing more social media."
There it was. The answer I was seeking.
Although flattered by the compliment and appreciative that Micah told the truth rather than holding back, I was not too fond of the answer.
Your biggest breakthroughs are hiding in the places you don't want to go.
So I went for a walk to think about why I spent so much time on social media rather than networking, and the realization was surprising and frustrating.
"When you don't have to rely on others, you won't get hurt, rejected, or disappointed."

I thought I'd gotten past the fear of rejection.
But it was hiding in my unconscious mind keeping me focused on everything but what I needed to do.
So I took myself through The Awakening Experience once again and found a childhood memory where that deep fear of not being able to trust others developed.
Then I gave the younger me the resources I did not have then, and we upgraded the belief, so I now trust myself, and my circle of friends, more than ever.
That experience has me now expecting that people want to help me AND they are excited about doing so!
This new belief instantly gave me the courage to start reaching out and asking for introductions to company owners and those in organizations and associations that select speakers.
Before I took myself through the Awakening Experience and upgraded my unconscious fear (belief), I had reached out to five people, and none of them returned my telephone call or email.
After upgrading the fear (belief) and imagining positive, desirable outcomes, I reached out to five more people and they all said they were more than happy to help!
"Where you resist, you must persist!"
You may need help recognizing blind spots and upgrading your unconscious beliefs, and I'm happy to help you with this.
You can also go for a walk today and think about what you "should" be doing and what fear might keep you from following through.
Once you've identified the fear, ask yourself, "What would I rather believe instead?"
Then play a new movie in your imagination where the empowering belief is in effect, and the improved outcomes occur.
It's changed the game for me and will do so for you as well.
