Most people think that to succeed in business you need to have an outgoing, gregarious personality.? Not true.

Some of the most successful people I know in business are introverts.

You may not believe it if you’ve seen how many videos I put out, but I’m somewhat on an introvert myself. ?I’m not great at networking events and I tend to shy away from group functions.

When I was starting my career, I used to think being an introvert meant I wasn’t cut out for sales or business. Then, I realized the traits I was hiding were the exact ones that helped me.?

If you think you’re an introvert, you have these advantages - You probably:

  • Listen better.
  • Ask better questions.
  • Focus better on getting your job done.
  • And excel in preparation.

Success in business doesn’t come from fitting into a mold—it comes from using your inner strengths.

Here’s four ways you can use being an introvert to your advantage. (And even if you’re not an introvert!)

  1. Speak less but make every word count.
  2. Use written communication to articulate your ideas clearly.
  3. Use your listening skills to truly understand your client’s needs.
  4. Deliver exceptional results that speak louder than any self-promotion.

Being an introvert in business isn’t a weakness. It’s an advantage when you know how to use it. I’ve closed more deals by being myself than by pretending to be someone I’m not. So, here’s your Action Item and Mission, should you decide to accept it: This one’s easy.

You do you. Nobody else. A lot of successful entrepreneurs and business leaders are introverts who have leveraged their quiet power to achieve remarkable success.? Use your strengths as an introvert, and you can too!
