You do not have to be a general or pilot to have a successful military transition

There is a common misconception, personified by current "transition events", that the only people qualified to "get people fired up" about their military or milspouse transition are generals and pilots...
You see generals and pilots delivering keynotes left and right at these events, but have zero relatability to 95% of audience of transitioning military service-members and spouses. For one generals don't even attend the same TAPS or ACAPS government funded transition programs as the rest of us.
For two, a pilot is generally going to pilot after they serve, attending hiring seminars all around the country funded by Delta, Southwest, FedEx, and so on. FACT, most generals and pilots have the ability to live off their 20+ year officer retirements, the majority of us do not.
I retired early from the Air Force in 2014 un the TERA (Temporary Early Retirement Application) as and E-6, yep, as an enlisted Air Force technical sergeant. Since then I've been featured on a Full Feature National Television Production, interviewed NFL players at the Super Bowl and NFL Honors, have held/hold executive and board positions in companies, have brokered multiple million dollar real estate investments, have started multiple companies, am paid to speak internationally at conferences, and am paid hefty consulting fees by some America's largest brands.
I literally traveled the world for an entire years as a digital nomad starting my location independent business when I transitioned from the military...
I don't say all this to brag. I say all of this to let you know; IF ENLISTED GUY BERNARD EDWARDS CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU!!! Trust me, if you truly decide to make your transition a priority in your life and put in the work, you will get results you never could have dreamed of. If you take the "free lunch" approach to transition, you will take the "free lunch" approach to your life after taking the uniform off. Good luck with that...
Over the years I've been contacted to consult a number of transitioning executives who message my inbox requesting advice and guidance. Yes, generals and pilots. "Mr. Edwards, I see you've done quite well for yourself since transitioning. I'd love to pick your brain when you have a few minutes. Sincerely, Bob."
See in the civilian world, you and I are Mister and Misses. The rank comes off, unless you are general such and such getting paid to deliver speeches by people who still butter you up.
Anyway, I say all of to this to remind you, WE ALL TAKE THE UNIFORM OFF ONE DAY. Transition is not an option, transition is the way of military life, there is no time too soon to prepare for transition, WE ALL TRANSITION. So what are you doing to prepare for your inevitable return to civilian life?
We are launching www.militarytransitioncamp.com which is BUILT BY VETERANS AND SPOUSES, FOR VETERANS AN SPOUSES who have all successfully transitioned to the real world. We all no longer work for Uncle Sam as GS or other form of GOV. We have blazed our own career development trails.
Guess what? We have zero generals and pilots in our company or on our board, we most likely never will, what's the point... We aren't sanctioned by the government. We aren't planning to hold any events on any military installation. The Military Transition Camp will come to your city and host an experience in a civilian setting, because last time I checked, you are going to leave the military base when you transition.
The Military Transition Camp will not be for everyone, but will welcome everyone. The Military Transition Camp, MTC, is for the self-motivated veterans and spouses who understand the importance in investing in the most important personal and professional change of their lives to date.
We have no doubt that some transitioning generals and pilots will be sitting on the receiving end of our events. The rank comes off at our events, and if you can't handle that, you will need to leave, better yet, do us all a favor and don't waste your's or our time signing up...
If you appreciate this article and every word in it, go ahead and sign up to find out about the next event in your city. If we are not coming to city anytime soon, I highly recommend you book a flight and hotel for the weekend where we are and invest in your future.
Seats will be very limited. We may never come to your city, and if we do it will probably only be once a year, if you are lucky it will be twice. There events are closed to the public.
These events are not about Raa Raa Raa, Blaa Blaa Blaa. These events are about tactical and applicable action that can be taken immediately to enhance the way you return to civilian life. This is not a handout, this is a handup.
Nobody will be bused into our events to fill seats. The tactical proven value we provide will drive the self-motivated to attend the MTC. YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF YOUR TRANSITION. IF YOU HAVE TO BE BUSED TO AN EVENT JUST TO "GET OUT OF DUTY" YOUR MINDSET ISN'T PREPARED FOR SUCCESS...
Sign up on our site to find out the most up to date information about our events. If you are looking for free lunch, DO NOT. There are already many, "free" options out there. Those are for you. When you are truly ready to take charge of your life and future come and get a ticket before they are all gone. I look forward to shaking your hand and providing you a ton of value. See you on the outside...
