?? Are You A Digital Slave?

?? Are You A Digital Slave?

So you wake up one morning and you decide to check out what's trending on YouTube!!

You get on YouTube, and you start watching a video.

YouTube suggests another really interesting one - an interview this time.

You click on that 1 hour 30 minutes interview and decide to dig into it at 1.5x speed, looking for some golden nuggets in there.

The person interviewing seems like a pretty popular creator. So your perception about that person is that they MUST be super successful, without understanding that they may just be a puppet to the algorithms and their audience without having any freedom.

The person being interviewed also seems super successful. Maybe they built a startup or they got some crazy amount of funding, or maybe they did something out of the box.

And you are thinking...

Yes, there must be some really golden nuggets in there, where I can also do that!

It ends up being a great interview.

You enjoy the whole conversation.

You have one or two ideas noted down.

And you feel good about yourself.

You get high on knowledge.

And you feel...?"Yes! I have learned something today."

The next day, YouTube suggests another video on similar lines.

You get excited, and you once again dig into the 1.5-hour content.

The same pattern happens on day 2.

The next day another one, same pattern on day 3.

And this goes on for a month or two.

By now you start to realize that every major influencer creating content is pretty much asking the same set of questions in different ways. Every "superstar" being interviewed is also giving some?gyan?which is kind of there, but not there. :)

The feeling you got in the first video is not what it is when you're going through the 2oth video.

And you realize that you've not really taken any action on building your business.

And you realize...?"Oh crap! I've been wasting so much time!"

You were high on knowledge, but low on action.

Does this sound familiar?

That's the problem.

Creators on YouTube and other platforms engineer their content strategy to keep the attention, and they are damn good at it, as they get all the data from their dashboards -?who are their ideal users,?what kind of content they like,?what kind of titles will grab their attention, etc.

There is nothing bad about this from their perspective because they are "creators" and they are playing the game well. But do you realize that they are puppets to the platforms? They are puppets to their audience?

And what about you...?

You just consumed 50 hours of content.

But nothing has changed!

You just wasted 3o days, without actually getting anything done.

This is the plight of the?"influencer/creator"?world that we live in.

Yes, I'm an active educator on YouTube too.

I got the Silver button.

Currently touching over 126K subscribers with an insanely high retention rate on my videos.

Yay! But so what? :)

There's a slight difference...

I'm not a "YouTube Creator"...

My livelihood is not dependent on that platform.

My focus has always been (and will always be) on building my own private community.

And my intention is not to keep people hooked on watching content without making them take tangible actions.

My focus is on getting my students to get off their butts to make progress.

And I've used YouTube mainly to unplug people from the Matrix :)

I hope you are able to see the fine line between being a typical "creator" and a "community builder" that demands action from his or her students.

That's where I tell my students to focus on, the Internet Lifestyle Hub.

Firstly, you don't need to mindlessly create content or consume content on YouTube unless it's directly going to impact your personal or business growth.

That's why all our Hall of Fame interviews are very focused and to the point, pertaining to this topic.

It delivers an impact because I'm not interviewing some mega celebrities.

I'm showcasing the journey of normal people who were able to make a difference in their own lives and their students.

It inspires action.

It raises belief.

It inspires new people to get into this community of action-takers.

Having been in the digital space for over a decade, I have come to realize that?either the platform owns you?or?you have the choice to own the platform?- whichever it may be - YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, or more.

If you are endlessly consuming content on social media without actually getting your business to generate positive cashflows, you've already missed the plot.

You are being used by the platforms.

You are a digital slave.

As a special person on my email list, I would like you to get on a low-information diet from now.

Be very choosy about what you consume.

Be proactive in building your business every single day.

Be super active in building and nurturing your community.

Stop chasing after likes and subscribers.

That is not the best measure of success.

Start building more success stories within your community.

According to me, helping someone achieve their goals is any day better than saying I have a million subscribers or likes.

Again.... the number of likes, views and subscribers is not the right measure of success.

Society today has been so tuned to this, that I want to WAKE YOU UP to the reality!

Stop getting high on knowledge.

Start getting high on action.

Start getting high on student results.

If this is your focus, you will tactically use social media platforms to achieve these goals.

You will create precise content that will create breakthroughs.

You will stop caring about external metrics such as likes and followers.

You will start taking your business more seriously, and you will start mastering your craft.

I can talk about this topic with confidence because I have been through this situation many times.

I have gotten stuck in knowledge loops for many years without getting any personal results, to the point where my family used to doubt my abilities.

And that sucks!

Don't continue to make this same mistake!

I want you to WAKE UP!

So you must be thinking...?what is the solution then?

Well..

You can start by deleting all the social media apps from your phone for the next 90 days.?(and I really mean it... do it now!)

You can stop watching random content on YouTube unless it's directly connected to your growth!

Start focusing on building your knowledge business by doing deep research on your topic (not on YouTube) but by doing more 121s with real people (your ideal customers) and by building tangible solutions that can solve their problems on a path of least resistance.

And start creating content tuned to those outcomes you want to deliver.

Focus on getting damn good at sales.

Focus on building your community with more care.

Focus on building your paid content library, than just playing to the platforms.

Focus on mastering the skills of paid advertising to help you get traffic on demand.

Focus on building your own knowledge ecosystem.

You will be able to make huge progress by simply implementing every single step without using your brains, especially in our Hackathon.

This will give you momentum.

Swimming on YouTube will not!!

I'm sorry for being direct, but this is the problem many are facing!

It's not a lack of knowledge.

It's lack of FOCUS.

Do not let your focus be taken away by super-intelligent algorithms.

As I mentioned earlier, the best way to not get distracted by social media is to not have it in the first place.

If you have to use social media for marketing, then create some awesome content, post it and get out of the platforms. Spend just a few minutes a day responding to comments or still better,?get a freelancer to do that for you.

That way you will be laser-focused on your business growth, with peace of mind, and a lot more time to live in the 'real world', not the 'reel world'.

This may seem like a very counter intuitive advise from a digital marketer like me who spent over 10+ years in the game :) but this is what it is!

Why?

I care for you.

I'm not here to just sell some stuff to make a quick buck!

I want you to achieve holistic success in your life & business.

For me, business is a spiritual activity.

The value exchange creates progress on both sides.

So as you're building your business, you need to chase the right metrics.

This game is really not about name or fame.

This game is not about flashing your income.

This game is not about selling dreams to gullible people.

This is a game of taking control of your own life first.

And then you inspire others to do the same, to achieve their goals.

The real metric of success is how peacefully can you sleep every single night, not because of how great your business is, but because of how many people's lives you are able to change every single day.

It's the blessings of these normal people whose lives you're changing that really matter.

Not the number of subscribers or likes you get on your posts.

I've written this piece of content from my heart.

This is not some AI copywriting tool (or ChatGPT) doing this work. :)

This email took me 2 hours to write.

I invested this time for you. (without looking for shortcuts)

The future of marketing is also by opening up your vulnerabilities by bringing out your own voice in the way you communicate, as a leader.

We have AI copywriting and some awesome new tools coming online. But over time everybody will start using such tech to generate scripts and content pieces. And it will be too perfect to be true.

What you need to do with your audience is this!

Speak from your heart.

Reveal the truths.

As you are building your business, it's your heartfelt connection with your audience and your imperfections that will make the whole process even more beautiful.

Not Grammarly or ChatGPT! :)

Hope this message reached your heart.

Social media can have a powerful influence on how we think and behave. It can provide a platform for self-expression and connection with others, but it can also expose us to a constant stream of information and pressure to present ourselves in a certain way. As a result, it's important to be aware of how social media is affecting you and to take steps to use it in a healthy way.
