Are you currently interviewing real estate agents?
Are you currently interviewing real estate agents? Are you finding everyone you have called seems to be in it only for themselves? Have they promised you a dream house they can not seem to deliver? Have they told you a price before they actually entered your home for the first time? Will that agent do the homework needed to tell you in detail about the neighborhood your interested in? Are they shaky at your questions, will that be good for you at negotiations?
Lets answer these one by one. So are you interviewing real estate agents? Yes, please do not every person will be the right person for you and your home, and the only way to really know that is to meet them in person get to know each other. So, yes interview as many as you need to until you feel comfortable with your choice.
Are they just in it for themselves? Okay, now you that you have chosen someone is it all for them? No, it should not be. We as professional agents should also have some type of risk involved with you in this process either time or money we should be here for you and helping you making sure our time is your time and helping you achieve your goals and dreams in real estate . This should be a two way street always.
Does it seem impossible to find that dream home with your agent? Well maybe they are not looking hard enough. You have to look beyond our sacred MLS at times to find you your forever home. So make sure that agent is driven enough not to just say YES I CAN but actually come through even though it seems impossible. That will be the difference between every agent and the right agent.
Did an agent come to your home and have a market value before they rang your door bell? REALLY, how is that even possible? I think personally that would be an insult. Yes, you can do your homework before hand. It's another thing to tell someone they could only ask a certain price because the numbers said so and never personally looked at the property. That would say a lot about the other services you would receive from that agent. GENERIC just like everyone else and what you and your family deserve is PERSONAL attention.
Do they know nothing at all about the area you are selling in or wanting to buy in? I believe even if this is a fact at the beginning a great agent would do everything in their power to inform you and themselves about the area you are looking in. The right agent will know what schools, shops, sports associations for you children, ect.. Please do not let just anybody sell your home or help you relocate.
When you ask that agent your interviewing a question do they look nervous? This agent will be negotiating your most precious valuable, your home or helping you get that dream home. That does not sound like someone that should be on your side of the table negotiating something so precious as your current home for sale or maybe the biggest most valuable purchase your first home or your dream home. Please think about all this when interviewing, get to know your agent first, see if you are compatible with them. This is a huge decision and very delicate transaction to buy or sell.
