If your entire staff had to evacuate your building, would everyone know where to go and what to do??A?lot of organizations can answer with a confident, "Yes!" But let's add a layer to that. What if your CEO was meeting with someone in a wheelchair when the fire alarm went off. Would you know how to help that person evacuate? What if your colleague with hearing impairment couldn't hear the alarms --?would someone know to make sure he left his office, or does your emergency system have a visual notification system that would alert him??
It is imperative your emergency plan is inclusive of all of your employees. No matter what their functional or access needs are, we have to consider those needs and make decisions with those needs in mind. 2 年Yep! I brought this entire scenario up to our School Superintendent in an Emergency Operations Plan!
Outstanding topic! After writing fire and full building evacuation plans for so many years in healthcare, I realize how often this was included on the backend of the design instead of early on in the process. Vance will truly help to ensure that people become more knowledgeable, but also act on this knowledge to effect change.
