IF YOU COULD BE IN MY AUDIENCE, WHAT TOPICS WOULD HELP YOU MOST?

IF YOU COULD BE IN MY AUDIENCE, WHAT TOPICS WOULD HELP YOU MOST?

As a keynote speaker with expertise in reading people and influencing decisions, I’m excited about upcoming events for 2025. My programs focus on how to read body language, facial expressions and vocal patterns to improve both internal and external working relationships.

I continually develop new material for my audiences. Imagine your organization is one of the groups bringing me in to speak at your annual event.

Will you comment on what topics would be of most interest in your work? See some options below (these are not speech titles, just topics.) You can mention more than one.

5 topics to consider:?

1)??? How to read people to gain hidden insights about what they really think and feel

2)??? How to Read the Zoom to make virtual meetings less boring and more productive

3)??? Learn to spot early nonverbal signals of frustration and de-escalate their anger before it's too late.

4)??? Is your body language hurting your ability to influence others? Most common mistakes and how to fix them.

5)??? Myth-busters about body language and detecting lies

If you have other ideas, I’d love to hear them. I’m open to your suggestions about what you'd like to learn about reading people, and how that could enhance your success. Thanks for your input!

All commendable topics. I appreciate this may be outside your area of expertise but there is a desperate need for people in management and HR to read trauma and respond in trauma informed ways. While many of the social services have embedded trauma informed care into their set ups and praxis, traumatised people do business in the real world so real world businesses may benefit to know that trauma presents in very noticeable ways and responds differently to a range of interactions.

Melinda Marcus, M.A., CSP all your topics are intriguing. I love 1, 2, and 4 the most. My additional suggestion would be, how to show up confidently yet approachable? Negotiators need to exhibit that body language. Some do it naturally, but many don’t.

Melinda for me hands down topics 3 & 4. Really really #4. I am always wondering if what I am saying matches what I am doing!

Bring on the myth-bustering about body language and detecting lies! All too often I find that hiring managers see themselves as Freud ....psychoanalyzing micro-movements on the part of the wildly nervous interviewee and regularly getting it wrong. There is great benefit in understanding the myths of body language the the certainty of movement vs motive.

I've been reading about body language the past couple of weeks and it's made me pay attention to my own movements. I'm curious about ways I can be more intentional with my own body language in front of an audience. Outside of acting out action and blocking, I'm sure I could communicate more effectively with intentional movement. Thanks for keeping my thoughts on this topic!
