If You Could Fly...

If You Could Fly...

'Mom, if you could fly where would you go?' This question was posed to me the other day by my adventurous, high-vibration 10-year-old son. 'Hmmm... I don't know I'd probably go to Bora Bora and then go to outer space and see the world from a different perspective. Or even check out some new galaxies and see how other spirits and beings are living,' I responded as we stood on a rooftop overlooking the cityscape of Seattle, WA. 'Well, I would go to my school and pick up my friends,' he responded. This back-and-forth dialogue went on for nearly an hour as we thought about where else we would go if we could fly. It wasn't until the middle of the conversation that I realized he was thinking about flying in a private airplane while I was thinking about me physically being able to fly. 'Ohhhhh...' I said to him when he clarified the 'flight game'. 'I thought you meant if I could actually fly not if I just flew in an airplane.' This new discovery of misinterpretation created a whole new discussion (one we often have) which was 'What would you do if you could do anything?' Answers such as 'walk through walls', 'speak every language in the world' and even 'read people's mind' started filling the atmosphere as we expanded our minds as far as they could go in our imaginary game of unlimited power.

But this 'game' is not so far-fetched in the business world or dare I say, the adult world. Holding a conversation with two different people from different points of attraction... one whose mind is still looking at perhaps what's in front of them and those, quite often limited, opportunities. And the other sees boundless opportunities, skills, talents, and prospects. Sometimes the person posing the question, in this case, my son, already has the answer in their mind. They already know who their competitors are, how to tap into new markets, or even how to attract better clients for their somewhat stagnant business. While the other individual, myself in this scenario, comes with new ideas, perspectives, and often ingenuity that hasn't even crossed the mind of the poser who already sees the sky as the limit instead of the stool to stand on.

Another realization came to mind as I was playing this not-so-child-like game. That is the thought of how so many people especially business owners don't believe that there are actually unlimited resources, unlimited potential and unlimited solutions to their problems. Sometimes it takes a universal thinker to get you out of the mindset of neighborhood thinking. Said differently, you may be that person who sees a few options many of which you've tried or looked into to advance your organization. Meanwhile, someone like myself who literally sees the world as unlimited in every sense of the word can see your situation and devise countless options many of which haven't crossed your mind. But the beauty of it all is once that positive energy is tapped into, you can run with it and watch the creative juices flowing effortlessly.

So the question for you is, 'Where would you go if you could fly?' Would you limit yourself to exploring the opportunities in your 'neighborhood' or would you seek new developments in some faraway galaxy never before tapped into? Only you can answer this question. But I encourage you to have a conversation with someone else whose point of attraction differs from yours. In doing that you may find that your abilities to fly aren't as limited as you may think.
