Are you passively waiting for the right people to find?you and reach out to you??First, decide on your specific target audience and then optimize your Profile to attract them.?Let them know how you can solve their problems.
You can take charge?of your network! Two of the most important of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, according?to Stephen Covey, are to?be proactive?and to begin with the end in mind.
Some people make things happen. Some people watch things happen. And some people wonder what happened!?;-)
Choose your partners!?LinkedIn's internal search engine is very robust. Even with the free version, you can filter your?searches not only by keywords?but also by the following categories: People, Jobs, Posts, Companies, Products, Groups, Service Providers, Events, Courses, and Schools. Then, you can further refine your search by geographical location, the degree of connection to you, whom they are connected to, whom they are following, what they talk about, services they provide, industry, current company, past company, the school they attended, and?any combination of the above filters.
After you have made a list of your prospective clients or referral partners, you can get their attention by deliberate actions, including Liking and/or commenting on their posts or on their own comments, messaging them, inviting them to connect, joining Groups they belong to, or simply triggering Notifications that you Followed them or that you reacted to something they also reacted to.
