How do you become confident in anything?
It’s simple ——> by doing it…
I remember when I first step foot in a professional rugby club.
I can tell you this for free ——> I did not feel confident at all.
Quite the opposite.
I felt like I didn’t fit in and to be totally honest, I was made aware of this too.
Like many sporting environments it was a test.
I had two options:
Fortunately I chose option two.
Before I knew it I was confident in that environment.
The moral of the story is that confidence isn’t something you have when entering a new environment/situation/pursuit.
Confidence is actually something that’s earned by action.
Action x repetition = confidence.
The reason I’m saying this is that it’s liberating.
Instead of being daunted by a lack of confidence we can now simplify this for ourselves.

I understand that for me it’s easy to say let’s just get to work.

3 个月This resonates so much with me! Repetitions are everything—it reminds me of my time as a dancer. You don’t master moves immediately; it takes doing them over and over again. First, just to understand, then to refine and master, and eventually to perform with confidence. It’s also a lot like what James Clear says in Atomic Habits—the idea that small, consistent actions compound over time. Each ‘rep’ isn’t just practice; it’s casting a vote for the person you want to become. Over time, those votes build the confidence to step into any situation and own it. Love how you’re tying this principle into health and wellness—it is such a powerful way to grow confidence in any area!
