Are you confident?

Are you confident?

Confidence means having the ability to face the world by acknowledging the challenges and encountering them without any fear or doubt. If one has developed or trained himself in a particular domain, he is more likely to be confident about himself, and his work and build trust among people around him.

Being confident implies having a realistic, secure sense of self and your talents, not in an insulting way. Lack of superiority complex has nothing to do with confidence. You already know deep down that you can do it. Confident people experience security as opposed to insecurity.

Lack of self or confidence might lead you to withdraw from social environments, cease doing different initiatives, and steer clear of difficult circumstances. Ignoring demanding and unpleasant events may make you feel protected temporarily.

We want to interact with the people and want them to give feedback to us too. But due to a lack of confidence, we often let things pass. Almost every time we miss such opportunities we often feel this was the one for me. By the time we realize it, the train already left the station.

Your perspective alters when a limiting thought is awakened and activated. There might be many instances when someone's viewpoint differs from yours and instead of acknowledging them, you start to have self-doubt. This is the confidence killer. You become sensitive and begin to blame yourself.

In the corporate world, we constantly face challenges and sometimes these challenges go into our nerves which can shake our confidence. By setting yourself up for failure and disappointment, you run the risk of having high expectations for yourself that are just unachievable. Alternatively, you could be unfairly hard on yourself when you are unduly critical of your efforts. ?Corporate workers are routinely put in precarious positions where they lack the knowledge and expertise needed to succeed.?

We can never achieve confidence if we are not living our own ideal selves. Being judgemental about self is not going to help build confidence. Always we miss out on those who truly care for us and go for people who rarely talk to us, this brings our confidence down. There is a part in every one where something will be unknown and even we don't know about that. So fear of the unknown is common to people who have low self-esteem.

Building Confidence is not a big task, it's in this life only we can achieve it truly.

a) Have big goals, but divide them into easy tasks, whenver you achieve it will give you a feeling of success. Success is a key ingredient in building Confidence.

b) Look for your growth instead of failures. Everything which comes your way is an experience you should acknowledge. That this experience is your leverage to build confidence. Develop yourself, build that no one can break you, and be flexible that anything can make you.

Darren Hardy tells a story where a real estate person told him, “Go fail fast. Fail a lot. And fail big.”

c) Adding value to others will help in building a good persona of self. Happy hormones are released when we help others which makes us feel good about ourselves and henceforth works as a brick for building confidence.

d) Being honest is a way to remove fears. Don't let this fear come your way of launch. Just launch and don't wait for perfection. Perfection is always a process and not an achievement.

The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. -Nelson Mandela

Most people place their attention on external factors or your situation. Give yourself some time and get through the journey you are willing to go. Confidence is not something that cannot be built, and no one is born with it.
