Will You Compromise Integrity and Trust Artificial Intelligence Now?

ChatGPT, also known as Artificial Intelligence (AI) software, is new on the business scene. It has only been made available since November 2022. Interest in it (and many emails inviting me to free trainings) is exploding. ?

In the brief time I have been learning about it, AI seems to have a positive place in all our lives and is likely here to stay. But…?

It’s easy to run toward something that makes life, work, or your business easier with the potential promise of more free time and money.?It’s being promoted as the Holy Grail to overnight success or at least a straighter line to it. ?

As a small business owner, solopreneur, or marketing professional, you don’t have to do all the thinking anymore or any of it should you choose that route. ?

That is very personal to me. My Dad endured Dementia for nearly 10 years and lived half of that time in a locked ward. My Mother has recently been diagnosed. She doesn’t understand why she is living in a secure unit now.??

I know too well what it looks and feels like to watch a loved one’s brain slowly evaporate. ?

One in five elderly people will suffer from Dementia. The average age of diagnosis is the mid 60’s with a life span of 10-15 years beyond that.

My point is this:?

Why devalue the importance of challenging our human brains to think, grow, and strengthen by working through difficulties in a creative fashion? ?

Human history reflects an age-old sequence: We fail. We learn. We try again. We do better once we know better. ?

What about Imposter Syndrome??

Self-worth issues strike even the most successful and can create a ceiling for your potential. Your quality of life, income potential, foods you consume, or relationship health all match your level of self-worth. ?

Imagine being found out you did not curate the content (whether free or high ticket) at all. Artificial success feels like a hollow victory and a huge blow to your (often fragile) self-worth once exposed as a fraud. ?

Copyright infringement, inaccurate statistics, identity theft, and probably more hiccups (and regulations) have yet to be revealed for this new, shiny, “smart” tool.

?I have concerns about the greater consequences of leaning hard on shortcuts.

?Here’s a bigger one.

?From my coaching school training days, these words were actively used: “Authenticity”, “Speaking your Truth”, being “Transparent or Heart-Centered” and following your “Value System” like a GPS. ?Now they are mainstream and probably overused terms in leadership conversations, social media profiles, websites, and in printed materials. Their sole purpose is to describe a more conscious, Integrity-based, trustworthy way to live, lead yourself, and others in the highest manner possible. ?A Human condition.

?To me, AI competes with this philosophy.

?It begs the question: How does using AI align with your Personal Integrity?

Integrity is the single most important characteristic you can acquire. ?It is a critical foundational principle for a successful, fulfilled present and future.

How does Integrity show up?

·????????You are completely honest and forthright in all aspects of your life.

·????????You are a truth teller who does not cloud your memory with tall tales.

·????????You live up to your commitments and promises.

·????????When actively abided by, you will become a remarkable person who succeeds in all you undertake.

·????????When you attract incredible people and circumstances into your life.

According to LifeHack ,

"Integrity isn’t the sort of asset you would claim on your resume (or BIO), but it is a highly sought-after quality. A potential employer or prospect may never ask, “Are you a person with sound moral principles?" But most employers and hiring managers are looking to see that you are.

Rather than a specific skill, integrity is a bundle of traits, including honesty and an ability to adhere to moral and ethical principles. When taken together, these traits show that you are a qualified individual that's worthy of being hired."

The same philosophy holds true for business owners. You have a higher chance of being trusted, respected, and purchased from when you live with honesty toward yourself, your staff, and your customers.

Life is less complex or needlessly challenging when you do what you say and say what you mean. Can AI accurately capture that for you? If so, what are you compromising or sacrificing to make it happen? ?

A truth-teller doesn't have to recall the stories they tell because they're telling the truth. If you tell the truth, you'll have nothing to hide whether you look in the mirror or the eyes of another person.

A person with great Integrity will always perform the best work possible, striving for excellence, in all they do. People with great Integrity understand that it reflects WHO they are as individuals. They won't let other people down because that would mean they are letting themselves down.

Honesty and Integrity should have almost no exclusions. It is easy to cut corners when no one is watching. It’s tempting to bend your will if you convince yourself, “It isn't that important.” But, if you sacrifice your Integrity in small ways, it becomes much easier to compromise in more significant situations later.

If you are passionate about your profession or entrepreneurial venture with a purpose-driven intent for greater good, be mindful of how you use Artificial Intelligence in your work, business, or schooling.

To be successful on any level and sleep soundly at night, FOCUS on exhibiting Integrity in all that you do. No exceptions.
