Are You a Challenging Leader to Work With?

Being a bad Leader is something no one desires. To evaluate whether you might be difficult to work for, consider these questions:
Are your standards overly demanding?
While expecting excellence is commendable, setting standards that are too high can lead to failure for your team and yourself. Reflect on whether your perfectionist tendencies frequently impact your team's performance, and be open to feedback from them on what they need to work effectively.
Are you a micromanager?
Do you excessively dictate how tasks should be done, leaving no room for creativity or initiative? If so, try shifting your focus to outcomes. Offer feedback and guidance, but allow your team the freedom to handle the process and execution themselves.
Do you only delegate menial tasks?
Giving your team the chance to take on more responsibilities and challenges can lead to surprising growth and positive responses. Use delegation as a means for their development and growth.
Is your feedback predominantly negative?
Strive for a 6:1 ratio of positive to negative feedback. If you tend to be critical, make an effort to recognize and acknowledge your employees' strengths and successes in a specific and timely manner.
