Are you causing harm to our ageing population?

No?
But how do you know if your only measuring outputs?
Measuring outcomes are not only for clinical services, outcomes are critically important for non-clinical services too. If you are delivering meals, transporting clients, providing social support these are all areas where you could be doing harm, if you're not measuring outcomes.
Some of you may say we'll just wait to see what quality indicators the Commonwealth comes up with, why are you waiting?
Why do you need the Commonwealth to guide you in measuring the quality of your service?
Don't you want to know if you are causing harm?
I know creating indicators can be hard and that creating the indicator doesn't change any thing unless the data is capture, analysed, reported on, discussed and actioned. But we need to start somewhere, so here are four examples to assist you on your path to measuring and demonstrating exceptional care:
1?? Falls Prevention Rate (FPR) ??
Nothing matters more than ensuring the safety and well-being of our elderly. By tracking the FPR, we not only safeguard our clients from physical harm but also stay true to our purpose of providing a secure and nurturing environment. As the FPR declines, we witness a direct impact on our mission to create care environments where our seniors thrive without fear.
2?? Client Health and Wellness Index (RHWI) ??
The RHWI encompasses a holistic view of a client's overall health and well-being beyond medication management. It incorporates physical, mental, and emotional dimensions. By monitoring this index, we ensure our care is truly comprehensive, reinforcing our commitment to a purpose-driven environment where every client thrives. As the RHWI rises, we witness a tangible impact on our vision of fostering a community that promotes a high quality of life for our elderly.

3?? Staff Satisfaction Score (SSS) ??
Behind every exceptional aged care service are dedicated and satisfied caregivers. The SSS measures staff contentment, a key driver for delivering superior care. Happy and fulfilled staff members are more likely to go the extra mile, contributing directly to our organisational vision of creating a warm, compassionate, and supportive community for our elderly.
4?? Community Engagement Index (CEI) ??
A thriving community is an engaged community. The CEI allows us to assess the level of involvement and connection our aged care client has with the broader community. As we witness an uptick in community engagement, we're not just meeting our organisational goals; we're realising our vision of being an integral part of a vibrant and interconnected community.
Why Measure Impact?
?? Strategic Direction: indicators provide a compass, guiding our organisation towards strategic goals.
?? Continuous Improvement: regular measurement facilitates adaptation and refinement of our care practices.
?? Better Lives: ultimately, by focusing on impactful indicators, we're enhancing the lives of our ageing community, aligning actions with purpose, and realising our vision of exemplary aged care. Together, let's make a meaningful difference! ??
