You can't take a person to a place you've never been.

Leadership is the process of guiding people through a journey that can systematically expand the capabilities of others, if you have not been through the journey, then you are not the leader to lead them.

Leaders always go first, however even though you as the leader must have the skills, come from the heart, be prepared, have deep insights ad understanding for those you are leading and influencing, you must move out of the way so that they can continue to grow.

That does not mean move away completing, but be there ready to catch, pick up or step in anytime you are needed.

There are very few Leaders today who have the ability to lead a group, people or an organisation efficiently. To step up in the time of a crisis and be able to think creatively is not for every leader, and at the same time these leaders do not take the approach to develop others.
