You Can’t Succeed If You Are Too Afraid To Fail

Are you an ambitious, driven, person who wants more money, better relationships, and more satisfying work?

From over 5 years of coaching experience, I find that there is one reason people don’t achieve their goals is - they stop walking towards it.

The reason you are where you are, and not yet where you want to be, is that you have to cross a dark sea to get there.

The sea is made up of all the emotions that prevent you from already being where you want.

Embarking on a journey towards change is like embarking on a hero's journey - facing dragons. Only in today’s world, those dragons are mostly internal.

Your fear of failing is probably one of those emotions. In fact, it is one of the most common. Ambitious people tend to have their self-esteem rely on external approval. To prove something is many the main “fuel” for their engine.

When you face those emotions you have two choices:

1. To turn back?not to feel those “bad” emotions.

Paradoxically, we keep ourselves away from the thing we want, because the closer we get, the more intense the negative feelings become. This is when you will most likely stop, or sabotage yourself.

2. To allow yourself to feel whatever comes up.

It takes courage to face these negative emotions head-on. To our nervous system, negative emotions can seem as scary as death. This is not an exaggeration.

But by allowing ourselves to fully experience them, we free ourselves from running away and continue walking towards our chosen path, even when it doesn't feel good.

Embarking on a journey towards change is like embarking on a hero's journey - facing dragons. Only in today’s world, those dragons are mostly internal.

And instead of slaying them, we learn to befriend them and make them our greatest allies to aid us in our quest for greatness.
