“You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.”
I’ve always loved this quote by the great Jon Kabat-Zinn, professor and mindfulness guru. It takes such an important concept and phrases it simply and artfully.
Life happens. And it’s messy.
As leaders, we can often feel that the chaos never stops. If we succumb to it, we’ll drown, and potentially take many people with us.
In this video, I go through the key strategies I’ve found to help manage energy levels so you can have the strength to thrive in challenging times.
I hope you find them meaningful.
More strategies will be shared in The CEO Circle that will be launching in March. It will be a terrific eight-week mastermind with like-minded peers.
It is still open for applications!
All the best,
Peter

9 个月Love surfing related posts (mainly cos it's my No 1 passion) Love the way you phrase you can't stop the waves but you can learn to surf. Surfing is majestic, but like Pascal says getting out to the line up is tough, timing, perseverance, grit is needed. Once there you sit and wait for the sets, then pick your wave from that set. It's kinda like life and business, there's always peaks and troughs you have to battle through, but stick with it and you'll have the ride of your life!

Once on the wave, the surfer's agility to balance, pivot, and ride the dynamics of the ocean parallels an entrepreneur's need to adapt swiftly to changing market conditions. Success in surfing, as in business, requires timing, intuition, and skill to master the wave's power for a calculated ride.

9 个月Love the quote, Peter Sorgenfrei. Riding the wave is a great analogy for the type of work I do with technology. So much change, rapid pivoting… When large change happens like cloud technology, the pandemic, AI, etc. it’s time to ride the wave than get crushed by it.
But surfing is no easy task Peter Sorgenfrei
