You can't sell if you don't know this

When I read my first book on sales, it began with the advice - Find your ideal customer and create their persona. Who are they, what do they like, where do they live, where do they hang out? And so on.
I thought it was pointless. Why should a vendor care what type of coffee their customer drinks?
But I was missing the point. The point is to know your customers. To understand them so well that you can anticipate their needs and come up with solutions that are irresistible to them.
Imagine that.
If you could know what your prospect is thinking, you would say just the right thing and design just the right product to get the sales. Won’t you?
That’s why it’s important to understand who your audience is.
So how can you connect to your audience?
Be personal, be honest, be approachable. Your customers must know that they can talk to you and rely on you.
Ask questions. If you want to know who your audience is, ask them questions. Ask for their opinions. Ask about their needs. You will get the answers.
Use these platforms.
Direct feedback Platforms
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn. These platforms are not for personal communications anymore. You are already connected to 100s or even thousands of people in your target market.
Use them. Talk about your service industry. Build fresh connections and listen to what people are saying.
Do not ruffle feathers by discussing politics (I learned this the hard way, but that’s a story for another time).
Build an email list. Write to your customers. Tell them what you think of the latest happenings in your industry.
Email is vital because you can talk to your customers 1-1 and get their honest feedback.
Build a group
Build a group on Discord or Telegram. Keep the conversation going everywhere you can.
