You can't put a price on the quality of life.

I started working at Leadfeeder in January 2022. From my first day with the company, I loved the flexibility that my position as a Talent Acquisition Partner offered. In short, if I have a laptop, a phone and a good internet connection, I can work from anywhere!

Back in March my Mum mentioned she fancied a holiday during the Easter break and asked if I would like to join her, with some of my family. Now, I had only been with Leadfeeder a few weeks at this point, and didn't feel like I wanted to take any time off yet- (yes, I love what I do!) so, my natural instinct was to decline, but remembering the new flexibility and freedom I had in my position, I was able to give a big, fat yes! I was excited to experience my first 'work from anywhere' trip.

So in April I travelled with family to Majorca. We stayed in a gorgeous little resort, very close to Porto Cristo, on the east coast of the island, for 9 nights. I wanted to enjoy some time relaxing, having a holiday and being with my family, so I confirmed with my Manager (Hey Dave!) that I would work 4 out of my 10 days whilst being out there. Fortunately, it took place over Easter so I only had to use up 2 holiday days ??

My balcony set up! Since the weather was warm, I had the luxury of working on the balcony, which had a quiet and peaceful view of the garden.

What did I accomplish during my working holiday?

  • A 1:1 catch up with my boss, we have these every 2 weeks. They're great to discuss ongoing work but also future plans and my personal development too.
  • Uninterrupted admin time to keep up to date with emails, LinkedIn messages, scheduling interviews, advertising jobs and reviewing applications.
  • Face time ?????? with our Head of HR and Finance specialist - opening a new vacancy for an Office Manager in Helsinki.
  • Time to plan my content
  • A weekly catch up with the talent and people team. I love that we are an international company. My team is made up of people that live in Florida, Helsinki, Dubai, Ireland and Sweden so there's always lots to talk about.
  • Have valuable time talking to candidates about why Leadfeeder is such a fab place to work ??
  • Still being able to connect with everyone I needed to ??
  • An offer to a candidate! ??

What did I gain from my working holiday?

Aside from a couple of lbs due to being all inclusive (and the donuts at breakfast ??) -

  • Valuable time with my family

  • A further feeling of gratitude for working for a company that value work life balance- Thank you Leadfeeder ??
  • A visit to the Caves of Drach

  • Time exploring the local villages and towns. I loved Porto Cristo, they have a marina lined with restaurants and bars.

A restaurant called Quince was my favourite. Perfect combination of delicious food, great cocktails and a stunning harbour view.

  • Fussio on the marina also offered amazing food with top notch service!

What did I lose during my working holiday?

Absolutely nothing! My work was not impacted in any way, and I got to spend quality time with my family.

I am extremely thankful that I get the opportunity to work from anywhere with Leadfeeder, a company that really values the importance of life/work balance and not work/life balance.

What an amazing opportunity for you - I see many wonderful adventures ahead! Companies who prioritize work from anywhere truly show their trust culture and affirm that they value their employees' happiness and well being. Aside from the obvious - no commute time, reduced expenses, and less resources utilized - working remote potentially adds to diversity and inclusion by reaching potential employees from a larger selection pool, while the flexibility lends itself to being able to manage life outside of work a little better. Bottom line: Happy Employee = Happy Employer!
