You Can't Post That On LinkedIn
If a woman can post about sleeping with 1,000 men,
I can post about not watching for 69 days.
An Ofcom study says:
2.9 million people watched p*rn at work.
55 minutes on average.
73% were men.
Let’s talk about it.
The Negatives for Men
Society says it’s normal.
But is it healthy?
The Spiral
Softcore isn’t enough.
It escalates.
What’s next?
The stats are bleak.
By age 9, 10% of kids have seen p*rn.
By 11, it’s 27%.
Those kids?
Lower self-esteem as adults.
This isn’t about being a prude.
It’s about the detox.
It’s about limits. It’s about understanding.
We need to start conversations earlier.
Teach kids about intimacy, respect, and real connections—before porn does.
Porn rewires the brain.
Detox rewires it back.
We need to talk about this.
Not for shame.
For change.

2 个月Lewis Hackney I thought the Diary of A CEO episode on this topic in October was absolutely fascinating. Women need to be having nuanced conversations about this topic. As the mum of a daughter who's now grown up, I definitely think robust conversations with girls about consent need to evolve to suit the times. Too much to cover in a comments section :) Maybe we'll get into it in our live chat!

Motivational, Mental Health & Wellbeing Speaker, talking about; men's mental health, burnout, loneliness, community building, psychological safety, work/life balance, domestic abuse and awkward conversations
2 个月such an important topic but not an easy one for employers to talk about - the merest mention of the word pXorn (in a non-decoded way) will get the post restricted and when I share with organisations that I can talk about it as part of the topics I cover in my speaking work, they literally NEVER want it!

2 个月Loving your approach and willingness to talk about these things, Lewis Hackney. All our desires and urges are part of being human, yet our society has us shaming ourselves for them and denying they exist, essentially forcing our exploration of them into unsafe spaces, which as you say, can have devastating consequences. Keep up the good work.
