You can't move forward standing still

Obvious right?

I have dropped the ball—with the blog (again) and, if I am honest, a couple of members.

The important thing is to learn and go again.

I could quite easily default to

  • Burying my head in the sand.
  • Popping it all in the too-difficult box.
  • Smoke and mirrors.
  • Allowing emotion to fuel my response.
  • Defensive, reactive play.
  • Backseat driving.

Take your pick.

How does that get any of us closer to our shared goal?

Here's the thing: I'm not wired that way. I am not too proud, egotistic or threatened by others' ability to admit fault.

Remember this from the first blog?

Accountability.

Let's rewind a bit, all the way back to September last year ??

When I joined the team, the objective was clear: increase member engagement to enable transparency and encourage further collaboration. Remember the presentation at #TCF24, about three weeks in, focused on working together to rip the plaster off?

And so the LinkedIn collage post with the catchphrase "fancy a cuppa" was born.

I won't go into the background activity, but like the old saying, good things take time.

This is especially true across a membership base of over 120+ members—yes, that's right, one hundred and twenty-plus.

The response has been positive and arguably above prediction, with plenty of future roadmap collaboration discussions paralleling BAU activity.

And there's the rub—the balancing act of active engagement and keeping those plates spinning.

But I am always at the end of the phone.

It's a challenging journey with the comforting assurance that groundwork has been laid. The seeds have been sown and nurtured, and we are now observing growth within our community. Long may this continue. ??

The journey continues. It never stops. Neither should it.

If someone could sort out reliable Wi-Fi on a train, that would be a big help! Anyone? That's for another day ??

I may also change the blog to fortnightly.

The important thing is to learn and go again.

Yes, the old glasses are back for now. Thanks, Molly.

Appearing at a scare fest near you soon!

Have a great weekend, everyone ??
