“You can’t get to the top of the ladder unless you leave the bottom” - Bob Proctor

DO you have a definite purpose that guides your ambitions, vision, and goals?

It might surprise you to know that most individuals do NOT have a written purpose.? This is what gets you to JUMP out of bed every morning.

Yet, it is too often overlooked: the power of purpose.

Understanding your purpose is not just about motivation; it's the compass that guides your decisions, shapes your goals, and fuels your passion.

Your big WHY.

Why Purpose Matters

Your purpose is your 'why.' It's the reason you wake up in the morning, the underlying passion behind your goals, and the driving force in your personal and professional life. When aligned with your daily actions, it leads to more fulfillment and success.

As you go through life, you don’t just pick up things you like doing by chance.

You discover what you are good at because you were meant to find it, just like you were meant to find out what your fingers do…

Your unique gifts are hardwired into your system.

If you fail to find your purpose, everything else feels off, it’s like working with a broken compass – you think you are going North, but you’re not.

Without your purpose identified firmly in your mind, you will wander through life never quite feeling that you are “in the flow”.

It is important then, to find what you are good at.

Finding Your Purpose

  1. Reflect on What Energizes You: Think about activities that make you lose track of time or bring you genuine joy. What aspects of your work or personal life give you the most satisfaction?
  2. Identify Your Core Values: What principles are non-negotiable in your life? Understanding these values can help clarify what you stand for and what you aim to achieve.
  3. Explore Your Talents and Skills: Your unique abilities can offer insights into your purpose. What are you naturally good at? How can these talents be used for greater good?
  4. Consider the Impact You Want to Make: Think about the legacy you want to leave. How do you want to influence your community, industry, or the world?

Action Items to Define Your Purpose

  • Write a Personal Mission Statement: Summarize your purpose in a sentence or two. This statement should reflect your values, passions, and talents.
  • Create a Vision Board: Visualize your purpose and goals. Include images, quotes, and symbols that represent your aspirations and what you find meaningful.
  • Set Aside Time for Regular Reflection: Dedicate a few minutes each day or week to reflect on your actions and decisions. Are they aligned with your purpose?
  • Seek Feedback: Sometimes, others can see aspects of our purpose that we overlook. Talk to friends, family, or mentors about what they think drives you.

Next Steps

There are 2 questions that purpose answers:

What is the vision for my life?

AND

How can I make a positive impact on humanity?

Once you've spent some time understanding and articulating your purpose, the next step is to align it with your vision and goals. We'll explore this in a future newsletter.

Remember, finding your purpose is a journey, not a destination. It evolves as you grow and learn. Embrace the process and watch how it transforms your approach to life and work.

Wishing you a purposeful week ahead!

“What a different story people would have to tell if they would adopt a definite purpose and stand by that purpose until it had time to become an all-consuming purpose” – Napolean Hill

Your true north might just be off by 90 degrees. Confidence might be knowing that you can’t go backwards.
