If you follow along with me you’ll be very aware that across September and October, I have been busy…
In one month I:
Delivered a speech in Perth about Marketing and getting your team involved
Delivered a Business Chicks Webinar - Stop posting and praying
Delivered a webinar in conjunction with NSW Small Business Month - Marketing is more than just Social Media
Delivered a session on optimising your LinkedIn for my Workshop guests
Delivered a Marketing Strategy Workshop day in Melbourne
Oh plus launched my White Paper: Social Media Won't Save Your Marketing.
Yep… it was a lot.
But the overall takeaway was that people find marketing and what to do with it overwhelming.
Yet there is also a clear understanding that without it, a business can only grow so far.
The thing I think that gets people in a spin is the fact that these days there are so many channels to choose from, and so much pressure that if you’re not in all of the channels then your competition will be or you won’t be visible and you’re not ticking all the boxes.
It’s a lot… and in the early days even I found myself overwhelmed with where I needed to be, and just how much content I had to produce to keep up with the other marketers I saw flooding the marketplace with their messages…
There was this real keeping up with the Joneses mentality - which I knew wasn’t right, yet I felt myself pressured by it regardless.
That was until I did a few things…
Firstly I figured out my point of difference - Why was I in business? What did I offer from my experience that no one else could?

Then I articulated that into my product offering
Which turned into knowing exactly who that offering was for
Once I had those key things in place, I decided what marketing would be right for my business…
I set out a plan of “now, next & later”
The things I needed to address now in my marketing.
Then the things I could add in once those key things were happening and taken care of
Then and only then I could look at the “later” box and start implementing things from there.
That’s how I can have a September & October like that and still market my business… Have a podcast coming out twice weekly, sell spots into my workshop days etc etc whilst taking half of my time in Perth to hangout with Quokkas and Visit the Pinnacles, and my time in Melbourne to go to the AFL Grand Final, and run a half marathon.
People say I am everywhere, and that I look incredibly busy.
Sure I am, however, I’ve also just gotten my strategy aligned and my systems and processes in place to make sure I have all the things happening without adding more stress to my life.
And it all comes from….
You guessed it…
Having a strategy to give you the direction you need to be going.
I have 5 spots left to join me in Sydney on the 21st November for my final Marketing Strategy Workshop for 2024 so if you’re ready to take control of your marketing and have a plan as to what you should be spending time on, and what is just wasting your time…
or just book your spot here.
