You Cannot Multiply Zeros!

Dear Friend & Subscriber,

I’ve got something invaluable to share with you.

What I'm offering is more than just knowledge – it's the foundation for success. Knowledge that seeps into your core, becomes part of your muscle memory, and transforms the way you approach copywriting. Here’s the essential truth:

You Can't Build on Zero!

And by "zero," I mean a weak, uninspiring sales message. Whether it’s a direct mail letter, website, ad, radio or TV commercial – if the message is a dud, nothing else matters. Fancy designs, top-notch typesetting, stellar sound effects, charismatic announcers, or the latest web tricks won’t save it.

Show a weak message to one person – no response. Show it to 10,000 – the same.

In the past, the internet let people with zero marketing skills make money. Case in point: a smart guy I know used to blast 30 million emails a day, netting 2,500 responses and making good money. Hear me out here.

He was getting 2,500 sales from 30 million impressions. That’s not marketing!

That’s like dangling 30 million pieces of bacon over a vast ocean and hoping a few starving fish leap up to snag a bite. The response rate was a laughable .00025%.

Back then, the costs were minimal. For $8,000 a month, his team could send 30 million emails daily. So even with a terrible response rate, he made money. But that era is over. Unless you plan to operate from a shady location and risk international legal trouble, you need a new approach.

Many marketers wasted their smarts on gimmicks like pop-ups and spam, yielding negligible results. What they ignored was the game-changer:

Crafting a Killer Sales Pitch!

Regardless of the medium, if you can’t write a compelling sales message, nothing else matters.

Let me share the top skills you need to become a master copywriter:

1. Understand Reader Psychology and Use It

You need to get inside your reader's head. What are their desires, fears, and motivations? A great copywriter knows how to tap into these emotions and use them to craft compelling messages. You need to make your readers feel understood and offer them solutions that resonate deeply.

2. Communicate Effectively

This isn’t just about using the right words. It’s about clarity, precision, and persuasion. Your message needs to be clear and compelling, cutting through the noise and grabbing your reader's attention. Great copywriters are masters of language, able to convey powerful messages succinctly and effectively.

3. Use Copywriting Formulas

Formulas like the Problem-Agitate-Solution (PAS) formula are essential tools in a copywriter’s toolkit. The PAS formula works as follows:

  • Problem: Identify the problem your audience faces. This should be something they care about deeply. A problem that’s keeping them up at night.
  • Agitate: Agitate the problem by highlighting the pain and urgency. Make them feel the weight of the issue. Emphasize the negative consequences of not addressing the problem. The more you can make them squirm, the better. You want them to feel that they need to act now.
  • Solution: Finally, offer a solution. Present your product or service as the answer to their problem. Show them how it can alleviate their pain and bring them relief. Make it clear, compelling, and irresistible.

Using the PAS formula keeps your message focused and impactful. It ensures you’re addressing the core concerns of your audience and providing a clear path to resolution.

Remember, even the best tricks and techniques won’t help if your core message is weak. You need to write sales messages that are clear, compelling, and emotionally resonant.
