[You can be Wholly Or You Can Be Holy - 2 Tim 2:15]

[You can be Wholly Or You Can Be Holy - 2 Tim 2:15]

Scriptural refs: Gen11:1,3-4, Gen 11:5-11, 1 Pet 1:15-16

Gen 11:1, 3-4, And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech (wholly). 3And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly (Gen 3:1). And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter . ? And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

Gen 11:5-11, And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. ? And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language (wholly); and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. ?Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one anothers speech.? So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth (Gen 9:1 + Isa 46:11): and they left off to build the city.

1 Pet 1:15 -16, But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 1? Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Clarity:

To be of one mind = to be (w)holly. You may have different ideas on how to achieve a chosen goal, but have a common objective.

To be Holy = to be of one mind, and have a common idea/resolve on how to attain to the chosen objective, and follow through as a supportive and collaborative unit (Isa 46:9-11 + Pslm 138:2 = Jhn 5:19 + Mt 12:31).

Motivated by mutual love and respect (Pslmn 138:2 + Jhn 5:19 = Jhn 16:13-15) the chain of command is recognized and maintained by all, for eternity (Isa 55:11).

In other words, there is only one lifetime leader, there is no chance of a Word once spoken being revised to suit the preferences of the next (Pslm 89: 34). God is always of one mind 24/7, it is no wonder that none of what He decrees will ever fail.

Notes:

1. It is impossible for those driven by self - the flesh to remain of a common mind 24/7, and that’s because, being in direct contact with the god of this world, one becomes subject to the feelings of the moment.

It is the nature of the enemy to cause friction - highlight and magnify differences for his sole benefit (Gen 3:3-6 + Lk 4:8 = Rev 12:11).

2. The person acting out of his feelings almost always misses the big picture, alongside the opportunity, to consciously determine what happens next (2 Cor 4:18B).

3. Blinded to the reality of the more superior world - where events are settled before they occur (Mrk 9:23 + Mrk 11:22-23= Job 22:28), (s)he remains in reactive mode, ever the firefighter, manager of the fallacy called "...the things I cannot change".

4. On the other hand, God is driven by a strong desire to do good and add value (Jmes 1:17 + Jer 29:11). He always comes from the place of love (3 Jhn 2 + Jer 31:3 = Jhn 3:16).

5. When the Believer, allows God to reign in his life, because his regenerated spirit is connected to Gods Spirit (Rm 8:11, 26-27), the spirit always leads, the mind always follows and the body follows next (Prv 3:5-6 + Heb 10:38-39).

There is no such thing as rotational leadership - where the spirit calls the shots today, nbsp; the mind tomorrow, and the body (feelings and emotions) the next day (Rm 8:1 + Isa 54:14 = Jhn 4:24) .

6. Re-created in His own image and likeness, He has extorted me to be like Him, to work in the power and nature He has already infused me (Rm 8:11 + 2 Cor 3:18 = Jhn 1:12).

7. The Tower of Babel was being built from the place of innocence, there was no ulterior motive on the part of the people.

But the idea - being different from the instruction Hed already given (Gen 9:7), did not come from Him, it was satan's way of ascending into Heaven's throneroom (Isa 14:12-15) through man.

8. Being under grace (Gen 6:8), they might have escaped without sanction. But they had not yet built a relationship with Him, and to go against His Word, would have resulted in their sure failure (Jhn 1:3), frustration (Ecc 2:10-11) and eventual annihilation (Mt 21:44 + Ex 14:17-18, 26-28) if, they persisted.

9. But once relationship is established (Rm 8:15), and we now understand (Jhn 3:16-17 + Lk 15: 20-24), respond to His love for us (1 Jhn 4:19), and His power in us (Phil 4:13), we can enter His courts freely to spend time with Him (Heb 4:16 + Jer 33:3).

10. Any other way would have destroyed what He was building with them and with us - relationship (Jmes 4:8 + Pslm103:7), and the opportunity to rule and reign with Him (Rev 20:6 + Isa 62:3).

How to tell if you heard from God:

a). God always tells you the final destination, even though He won't tell you how to get there. (Gen 12:2-3 + Heb 11:6), and what Hes promising is always value-adding (Mt 11:28 + Isa 26:3);

b). On the other hand, the devil works to weaken the tie you have with your Creator, by inching you away from the place of obedience, to the place of self determination - i.e. the place of disobedience (Gen 3:1-6), because it is only in the place of disobedience that he can rob you of what you stepped away from (Gen 3:6-12+ Isa 54:14); and it always starts with a prompt to do, some seemingly harmless but pointless activity (Gen 3:3).

Illustr:

Why did a people already settled in Shinar, suddenly decide to build, mould, and burn bricks (Gen 11:3)...have you noticed that it was only after they had moulded the strong bricks, that they got the inspiration to build a city and tower into heaven (Gen 11:4)?

With Eve, it was a simple question - did God say don't eat any of the fruit - aka starve (Gen 3:1 + Gen 1:29)?

Once she responded, she was inched towards the very tree that he promised would make her a master of her own fate (Gen 3:4-6) - the very same tree God said dont eat from (Gen 2:17). Now she was in disobedience, she was on his side of the fence, and with her co-culprit, they were now subject to his rule and authority (Gen 3:6-10 + Lk 4:8 = Jhn 10:10A).

Conclusion:

Your Holy is rooted in the nature of your Creator (Pslm 89:34 + Lk 1:37). So holy excels, no matter what happens to the next man (1 Jhn 5:4 + Gen 26:12-14).

Wholly, is rooted in a common objective, and is driven by self (Gen 11:3-4). Its ability to succeed depends - not on the One who can be trusted, but on ego (Gen 11:4). Once the conducive is no longer present, commitment dries up (Gen 11:7-8). Amen
