"Susan, I want to show up more powerfully at work. How?do?I actually do that?"
This is a question I hear so frequently.
So I wonder: Have you wanted to be more powerful, too??
If being more powerful in your professional life matters to you, let me suggest a great first step for building you power:
Know what holds you back from being powerful.
But how do you figure out what's holding you back from your power?
I've got you covered -- look over this list of five main power sources:?

That's because you might be losing power through?external?pressure -- other people or organizations making it challenging for you to be your best.?
Or you might be losing power through?internal?pressures you put on yourself.?
Then, go through the external and internal pressures listed four all five power sources (so really 10 areas) and for each one, ask yourself:
For example, in my work with "Jolie," she identified that she felt a lot of?internal?resource pressure. Jolie found it difficult to ask for what she needed at work. She especially wanted a junior employee to handle the tactical elements of her role so she could focus on the strategy. But she was afraid she'd look weak or needy if she asked for that support.?
I encouraged Jolie to look at how that belief was holding her back. I also helped her to request the support in a way that her leadership could hear.
I'm happy to say that, even with a potential recession looming, Jolie asked for and signed on the new employee. She's so much happier and is able to realize much more of her potential.?
