If You Can Survive Your Husband’s Midlife Crisis You Can Survive Anything

Looking back, I would say my husband’s midlife crisis lasted a good ten years. We almost divorced on multiple occasions, but for the sake of the kids, we stayed together. Now, we are finally free from all that bullshit, and I can honestly say I survived my husband’s midlife crisis.

We were broke and living in a one-bedroom apartment in the ghetto with no car. We had to go to the Church food bank to get food because my husband didn’t make enough to cover the rent, bills, and food. Plus, we had a young child under age 5, who took a lot of supplies to take care of; that is, diapers, formula, etc. all extremely expensive when you are poor. So we had to get on WIC (The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) to help with those expenses.

One day, out of the blue, he came home with an expensive used car. I asked him where he got the money to afford it. He told me he made some investments in an online business he had been running and it was starting to pay off, so he went out and bought us a car for the family.

I was skeptical, of course, but I was also relieved that we finally had a car.

Over time, I did ask him about his business, but he was very vague.
