You Can Reconnect With Your Inner Genius

Your unconscious mind is a genius. You are a genius.?

Your unconscious mind is the part of you that is not conscious. Getting to know your unconscious mind, you need to look at what it does for you, how it helps you and... oh, this will likely blow your mind.

Your unconscious mind is the part of you that beats your heart around 10,000 times per day, regulates your blood pressure, wakes you up when your body has had a deep sleep. It is the core of your being. It has a blueprint for perfect health – you hurt yourself and the unconscious mind knows how to heal you.

The conscious mind is the thinking, logical brain. It can process between five to seven bits of information every second, which is not much when you compare it to the unconscious mind filtering 11,000,000 bits down to 148, right?


What your unconscious mind does for you

The unconscious mind has prime directives. These are things it is programmed to do for you. To keep you safe, it has around twenty prime directives, but here we will just focus on the eight main ones:

  1. It stores all your memories. Not just memories of things that have happened, but memories of those that are yet to happen.
  2. It stores and runs all your emotions. Every emotion you feel comes from your unconscious mind.
  3. It organises all your memories according to time, knowing the difference between your past and future memories. This is why time is a good healer. When you experience an event, you will only perceive the reality of it based on your filters at that time, but when you recall that memory, your filters will have changed so you will have a new perspective (or reality) on that event.

  1. It represses harmful memories to keep you safe. In some cases of trauma, the sufferer will have no memory of the event that triggered it. When their system is more resourceful, when they are in a better place, then the memory can be reintroduced for resolution.
  2. It has a blueprint for perfect health and is always seeking wholeness and wellness. In other words, it runs the body.
  3. It is the powerhouse, the ‘go getter’, whereas the conscious mind is the ‘goal setter’. You need to be mindful of your self-talk as your unconscious mind needs clear, precise directions to follow and whatever you say to yourself, it will be listening to, judgment free, and acting on.??

Great read. The brain and mind is amazing. I’m learning a lot about it as I live with an unknown neurological condition. I’ve experienced the way it has adapted from a hard of hearing brain to a profoundly Deaf one. As I work on a love project of memoirs I also experience the subconscious coming to the conscious as one memory immediately triggers another and I don’t stop writing to think about it either.
