If you can read this, thank your teacher
Today is another special day designated to celebrate an 'endangered specie' - the teacher. How do you celebrate the one who held your hand to write for the first time? How do you celebrate the other 'parent' to whose care you were entrusted when you were just discovering who you were? How do you celebrate the one who taught you to how to spell your name? How do you celebrate that one person quick to praise you and yet reprimanded you almost in equal measure?
How many times did you ever stop to think if this person had 'issues' or 'problems'? All you knew was that with certainty, for each day you showed up in those four walls, she or he would be there. Did you ever wonder if, like you, there were days that person also did not feel like coming to school?
Have you ever gone back to say thank you to any of your teachers? Have you ever said a word of prayer for them? Did you ever consider the impact or influence they wielded over your life?
If you are a parent, how do you 'see' your child's teacher? He/She is just doing his /her job?
This is just to stir you to spare a thought for the teacher today and say thank you to that teacher, yours, in your child's school or even in your church
