You can be important to someone, but not all the time!

We all have our own importance in life and we also have people who are important to us in our lives. However, definitely someone should not revolve about you all the time like the earth rotates around Sun. People also have their other things on priority whom they love, their career, their own kids, their hobbies and sometime all that may come before you. You would never want someone to always put more importance towards you than anything else because you would never want to put more importance towards someone else in the same manner.

Everyone needs their own space in each other's lives. Be it a husband wife or father and mother or brother and sister or lovers all of us need to have our own individual space for ourselves in order to respect our privacy. We don't like some one hovering over us all the time like a CCTV camera shooting each and every moment of our life. We all have our personal life completely devoted to only ourselves not even our partners. This space we enjoy as our private moment and don't like to share it with anyone. For example, if you re using your mobile phone for texting and someone comes and takes it away you feel angry as to why is this person reading your messages?

I would like to illustrate this point by giving you a real life example of my close friend. He was telling me one evening about his girl friend. "Everything was perfect in the first year of our friendship. It was like I'm finally understanding why people love their college life so much. But as days passed by the things changed . That person for whom I had put aside a lot of other people and all of my time and attention, suddenly started bringing new friends in. And slowly distance grew in between us and in addition to my wonder she couldn't even notice what's happening to me in the process".

"One late night those hearty talks turned to formal pleasantries and then to customary hi's and hello's suddenly. New people started replacing me in our activities. and then I was just pushed away further and further away from her. When I confronted her and asked her face to face if she was having any problems with me or was she bored of me. All she did was accusing me of being possessive and now it has become so worse that we couldn't even be in the same room for a while. Can you find the reason for this? I never got the chance to think about them. Because all the time I was busy getting my nose around the truth why has my best friend just pushed me away without any reason?"

After listening to his story about his so called close friend I confronted him "and what has finally come out of your so called close friendship? She was considering you as just another friend of hers along with so many others, whereas you like a fool started believing that she has no other life than yourself and the moment she started talking about others in her life you felt betrayed suddenly?

Come on grow up man, each person has a private life and right to privacy and we must learn to respect that privacy part even with our spouse. Because even if you marry someone, it also means that the person also had some past relationship even friendship with few people whom he or she can't just cut off from their life, they will keep intruding in between and we must be able to respect that space and give it to them in order to have some space for yourself too.

Each one of us have to remember one thing in relationship, even if they leave your life, if you truly care for them, you won't hate them but still care for them genuinely. A person becomes important to you only when you care for them. If you say you hate them, then you never truly cared for them right because if you love a person from your heart you can't easily hate the person unless he or she has committed some sin or crime. You give your care not depending on other person's attitude.

For example, if you are important to your mum because she shows selfless, unconditional, love and care to you. Even if you don't think her as important, she will never reduce her care for you because mother is the only one who gives such unconditional love to children and always gives her undivided attention to them come what may. Therefore we must learn to understand and respect each person in our relation that we can't force some one to love us or care for us, it is all mutual and should come from both sides equally only then the relationship grows from both the ends and becomes long lasting.
