A year ago I was pretty much in a pickle.  I had just lost a significant income, still had monthly payments to make, and needed to do something quick to be able to survive.

The very first thing I did was that I got started.  I got active on social media, registered a consulting engineering company, and started marketing like crazy. By applying some basic administrative technology, I managed to pull myself out of the doldrums.

In the past year I visited many people, most of whom I met on LinkedIn.  Each visit went about what they needed and wanted, and what I needed and wanted. Work came from this, but in most cases not from whom I was marketing to and meeting with.

During these visits I heard tales of woe and stories of success.  And I was getting many e-mails from people who needed help.  Lots of people came to visit me and I showed them what I was doing.  They almost all left feeling better about themselves and that things can be changed.  The more I did this, the more I realised that what I was doing was not wrong, and that growing my business ten fold in 11 months was a real achievement.

So I decided to share my wins, successes and systems with a lot of others all at once.  I sent out a promo item advertising an inaugural Personal and Business Expansion Club.  I was expecting 10 people tops.

There were 40 people crammed into my house for the first meeting!

Cars were parked all over our pavement and also over the road next to the park!

Proof that people need help and support!  They want to be successful.  They want to survive well.  Some want to be totally independent.  Others want to flourish in their existing jobs.  Others need to make their own jobs.  Some want to find jobs.  It is that important to everyone, and everyone has different needs and wants.

We have now formalised the Personal and Business Expansion Club, found better premises in Honeydew, and will have our next meeting on Friday 13 May 2016.  Meetings will be held either weekly or fortnightly after that - once we have agreement on this.

Once this club is going and producing tangible results for the members (and this will happen in weeks, not months!) then I am going to get this going in other areas such as Kensington, Johannesburg, and also work out how to put this on a webinar (at 58 years old I still need to learn the technology to pull this off).
