You ARE Called!
I Was Called and So Are You!?
I was recently asked why I started coaching. And let me tell you. I started coaching because I love to help women grow. I love to see people. Flourish into more. I love to assess a situation. And find a way to make it better when people really want it to happen.
?As a bedside nurse, I would take care of patients, and coach them on things they should do to improve their health. What I found was that often there was more that needed to be assessed for them to be compliant. My patients needed to know more. They needed to have a better understanding, and this made me excellent at assessing a situation and providing ideas that would help. This is what coaching lets me do. It lets me assess my clients and their situation. From there we work together to develop a plan to help them grow. I offer ideas to help, ideas they can stick with and do. I am there for accountability to walk alongside them. As a nurse, my patients didn’t necessarily want to be compliant with their care, but as a coach, my clients seek me out because they truly want to be helped.??
I know this is something I was called to do. It's biblical. We're called to do things in the Bible. In Philippians 2. Verse. Two, it says, “…Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. Everyone should look not to his own interests, but rather to the interests of others.” We all have God-given talents that we are called to share. And it goes all the way back to Jesus Christ. We are called to serve others Putting ourselves aside to serve. I think about Mary and how she was told by an Angel that she was going to have the savior of the world. And how Joseph stood by her, scared. And not knowing. I think about how Jesus walked this earth and served his people even though they spit on him, beat him, and betrayed him. He still did what he was called to do. I'm not saying we must be like Jesus Christ because we can't be like Jesus Christ, but we should humble ourselves to share our gifts and talents because we are called to serve.
Then further. In verse 12 it says, “Therefore, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, so now, not only in my presence but even more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” In this verse, I think about how fear stops us, and how we tremble when we are faced with situations that challenge us and make us afraid, but we are called. To continue to serve we are called to be loyal and think of others. Again, there have been many people before us that have given us wonderful things on this earth. They faced their fears and challenges, because of passion and desire.
And one more verse I want to share with you is verse 14. It says., “Do everything without grumbling and arguing, so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God who are faultless in a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine like stars in the world by holding firm to the word of life. Then I can boast in the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing.”
So. I have felt a calling to coach. Because I know what it's like to humble myself, to face fear and tremble, and to push through anyway. This walk of mine has not been easy, but I would have it no other way because of the lessons learned. I have a story that is relatable, and I know I offer hope to others. I help my clients in ways that are digestible and not all-consuming. I do this because there were times when I was starting the businesses that I felt that way and I do not want my clients to feel this way.
?I know what it is like to feel like you don’t know where to start or where to start and I work with my clients on this too. I give all the tools I have gathered over the years from my coaches and share them, so my clients are well-prepared and supported.
My Time & Money Accelerator is a program I came up with to help my clients grow their businesses with business strategies that are not overwhelming. I work with my clients on things like imposter syndrome, procrastination, fear, time management, resource management, social media, and more.
