Are you the best friend of your child?

Just ask this question to your self’s. Are you the best friend of your child?
Everyday parents are facing a dilemma to whom they should trust and where should draw a line. Being part of legal fraternity, intermittently I come across the cases of child abusing by the people who they designate as the torchbearer and perceive as well-wisher, be the grandfather, uncle or acquaintances close to him or her. India has been placed at the second highest number of cases of child abuse in the world after Africa. So here it’s an alarming stage that we should make our children realize that parents are their best friends. But it is easier said than done.
What should you do for that?
1) Spend quality time with your children.
2) Listen to them carefully.
3) Ask them everything about how they spent their day, what they did? How others behaved towards them like teacher, Cab driver and others interactions.
4) Many children tend to tell stories, please don’t lose your patience, it is vital as a parent you support them and believe them.
5) Assure them that they can share everything and anything with you.
6)They should know they can trust you and you will protect them.
Let's get real and practical having in mind the current atmosphere and behavioral concerns in our society. There's no one safety rule book that the children can mug up and lead a safe life forever. So let’s teach them bit by bit. Come; let’s join hands to make this world a better and safer place for our young generation.
