Are you being paid your worth?
How often are you not paid what you deserve??How do you navigate through such muddy waters?
If you're not being paid what you're worth, it can feel like you're being nickeled and dimed down to the last penny. It's a question we all need to ask ourselves from time to time. If you feel like you're not being paid what you're worth, it's important to speak up and negotiate for what you deserve.?Don't sell yourself short - know your worth and fight for what you deserve.
There's nothing worse than feeling like you're not being paid your worth. Whether you're in a job that doesn't pay well or you're negotiating a salary, it can be frustrating to feel like you're worth less than others.
?The good news is, there are ways to get someone to understand your worth and not allow them to pay less than you deserve. Here are a few tips:
?- Be confident in yourself and your worth. If you don't believe in yourself, no one else will.
- Be prepared to negotiate. Know your worth and be ready to fight for it.
- Don't take any less than what you deserve. If someone tries to lowball you, walk away.
- Don't be afraid to ask for what you want. The worst someone can say is no.
?How else can you navigate through such muddy waters?
?Here are a few things to keep in mind:
?- First, assess your worth. What are your skills, experience, and qualifications worth in the marketplace? Research salaries for comparable positions and use that as a benchmark.
?- Second, don't be afraid to negotiate. If you're worth more than what's being offered, don't be afraid to say so. Be prepared to back up your case with facts and figures.
?- Finally, remember that it's not always about the money. Sometimes other factors, such as job satisfaction or company culture, are more important than salary. Weigh all of your options before making a decision.
?I know, in my case, I have had people nickel and dime me repeatedly.?I would always work with them and charge less prices.?Even for events that I used to host. I was not even making money on them.?I would spend 6 months a year working hard on ensuring that the attendees had the best event possible.?My time is worth something, yet no one seemed to care.?What did this do??This caused people to not have the right respect for me.?I guess it is like buying designer clothes.?The same shirt may be $10 at a local store, but then $200 at a brand-named store.?Somehow, people would look “up” to the $200 shirt, seeing it as more valuable because of the name/price [when in fact, there is no difference in them at all].?I would see people paying my competition 10-75% more money, yet I was offering 75% more services.
?This is why I say, know your worth and stop settling for less than you deserve.?If someone believes they can get more out of someone else, wish them luck and continue forward.? Stooping down and obliging someone who already doesn’t respect and value you enough to pay you what you are worth, will only confirm their current thoughts and never show them your true worth.?That is what “you” must do – know/understand/value your own worth.
Following these tips, you'll be on your way to getting paid what you deserve.
