Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) works to release constriction in our organs, which store energy, as well as different types of emotions and memory. Indian philosophy describes the ability to cultivate "prana" through our energy points which is the equivalent of "chi" through our meridians in TCM.
All traditions point to a nexus between mind, body and spirit.
The body historically has been seen as a physical tool with little to no innate intelligence. Science and mysticism have aligned recently to show the integration, and how much our mind - body harmony matters.
