Are you aware of the transformative practice of Systemic Constellations?
For nearly two decades, I've immersed myself in the transformative practice of Systemic Constellations. It's not just a job; it's become an integral part of who I am. Yet, I've recently come to realize that many aren't familiar with this approach.
Systemic Constellations, pioneered by German psychotherapist Bert Hellinger in the mid-1990s, emerged from his deep exploration of familial dynamics. Rooted in the understanding of energy within family bonds, this method offers a profound way to address personal, professional, and organizational challenges by uncovering hidden dynamics and facilitating resolution.
What exactly are Systemic Constellations, and why am I so passionate about them in my coaching practice? Before diving into that, let me share what captivates me about this work.
It's the realization that solutions often lie within the existing system itself. It may sound cliché, but consider this: every aspect of our lives operates within systems, whether it's our bodies, families, workplaces, or the broader universe. And within these systems, lies the potential for solutions.
Traditionally, we're conditioned to think externally for solutions. But what if the problem originates from within the system? This is where systemic thinking comes into play.
Systemic thinking acknowledges that the answer lies within the system, guided by the innate wisdom of the body, mind, and spirit. This interconnectedness is evident in the harmony observed by the Heartmath Institute, showing that well-being is achieved through alignment within ourselves and the broader universe.
As a facilitator of Systemic Constellations, I guide participants to tap into this inner wisdom. By posing questions that direct attention to bodily sensations and awareness, we access the inherent knowledge within the system. It's a process rooted in universal order, where solutions naturally emerge from within the interconnected web of life.
In essence, systemic constellations foster systemic thinking, leading to holistic solutions that address the root of the issue. It's a journey of alignment, where the wisdom of the system guides us towards profound transformation and lasting change.

Systemic thinking, as applied in the context of Systemic Constellations, is a comprehensive approach that transcends traditional problem-solving methods. It involves a deep understanding of the interconnectedness and the recognition that every element within a system, be it individuals, relationships, or broader structures, influences and is influenced by the whole.
When facilitating systemic constellations, systemic thinking serves as the guiding principle. It involves recognizing and honouring the intricate web of relationships, dynamics, and energies within the system under exploration. Rather than focusing solely on isolated symptoms or surface-level issues, systemic thinking delves into the underlying causes and systemic patterns that give rise to them.
In practice, systemic thinking invites participants to step back and view the system as a whole, acknowledging the complex interplay of factors at play. It encourages them to embrace multiple perspectives, recognizing that every element within the system has a unique role and contribution. By shifting the focus from individual components to the system's holistic functioning, systemic thinking enables participants to gain deeper insights and understanding.
Through the process of systemic constellations, systemic thinking facilitates the emergence of systemic solutions. By representing elements of the system spatially or metaphorically, participants gain new perspectives and insights into the hidden dynamics at play. This allows for the identification of underlying systemic patterns, unresolved conflicts, and entanglements that may be contributing to the issue at hand.

As participants engage with the constellation, guided by the facilitator's systemic thinking, they tap into the collective wisdom of the system. Through dialogue, exploration, and experiential exercises, they uncover new possibilities, perspectives, and solutions that were previously unseen. This process of systemic exploration and dialogue fosters a deeper understanding of the system's inherent intelligence and resilience.
Ultimately, Systemic Constellations guided by systemic thinking lead to systemic solutions that address the root causes of the issue. By addressing systemic patterns and dynamics, rather than just symptoms, participants are empowered to create meaningful and sustainable change within themselves and their systems. This holistic approach not only resolves immediate concerns but also fosters long-term systemic transformation and growth.
