“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” Jim Rohn
Who is in your Inner Circle?
People who occupy most of your time have a huge impact on your life. Their influence can impact everything you live, breath & grow for.
In the past, depending on who I worked with, I could have a pleasant and meaningful day.
Or I could have an exhausting day because others didn't know the meaning of great attitude, positive words, inspiring actions and believe it or not, no value for themselves, so how could they add value to others.
I found this when i worked in a family business - because they lived in that space no holistic leadership, compassion, integrity or flexibility, I was becoming tired, irritable, stressed and anxious and definitely not wanting to be there.
When I worked at the same time in my other daily jobs, i had created a great team that i was leading, time went by quicker, i felt appreciated and good about myself, knowing that i was growing others. My co-workers clearly enjoyed their jobs, had a deep respect for me as their leader and performed at the best version of themselves
Either group had a real impact on my personal life and attitude. I preferred spending 40 hours at work rather than managing the staff and financials in the family business - they both had long-term ability to eventually impact who I was as a person and by the grace of God, i was able to bow out gracefully, with my integrity intact from that which was not serving me as a human being and my calling
Long story short, if you have some choice in who you spend your day with, choose wisely.
Stay away from negativity, people who talk down to you, and people who do you more bad than good.
Spend time with people who lift you up rather than bring you down, and you’ll be well on your way to a better you. - Pushpa -
