This time of year represents a fresh start for many and reminds me of the feeling you get when opening a new notebook. The anticipation of those pristine pages, waiting to be filled with ideas, opportunities, growth and solutions!
Yet all too often we can find ourselves missing out, for our people, business and personally, if we allow ourselves to be swept back into a maelstrom of demands, deadlines and decisions.
Clearly last year's notebook is right there, with it's ongoing actions and responsibilities. However, if we dive in mindlessly, what can we expect to achieve in the short and long-term?
With this in mind here's something I suggest people consider:
?"It's not about finding all the answers, but about stopping and thinking what our own questions are".
?Think about the questions your current projects are answering. Here are a few likely ones:
I'm not saying these questions are wrong, however for our vision and focus to be sharp, we need to understand the underlying questions we are seeking to answer.
Test out a few of your accountabilities and projects in reverse to work back to the question - is it one you want to be answering or do you need to adjust it?
If you want to find the clarity and focus to fill those pristine pages of 2022, look at the questions you want and need to be answering.
