If you aren't growing you are dying!

Maggie Jacobs has made a name for herself in the Executive Assistant (EA) space. Her level of success is in direct proportion to her level of investing in herself. She's a personal growth fanatic and living proof of what happens when you get serious about committing to change.
Her journey began in 2013, at a Bonnie Low-Kramen event. Bonnie saw Maggie's potential when she couldn't and ignited something in her that she didn't know existed. Since then, she's been hell-bent on satisfying her seemingly insatiable thirst for knowledge. For her, there is no end to the journey.
Maggie doesn't merely soak-up the life-changing information at these events and call it a day. She brings back the intensity, the passion, and the knowledge gained and implements what she's learned. But implementation alone is not enough. One of her favorite takeaways from Tony Robbin's Leadership Academy is that consistent, deliberate action is the key to progress.
She started sharing what she was learning – internally from her experience at previous organizations and externally from the mind-blowing events she attended – and unknowingly cultivated her own voice on LinkedIn. She was herself, and that totally struck a chord in others.
Maggie sees the EA's role as so much more than making travel arrangements, managing calendars, and tracking expenses. She believes that when you get really present in your role as an EA, you'll realize there are infinite possibilities. Your mind will be opened to a whole new world, and you'll see that you can do, be, and create anything you want.
Your stories are your limitations, and there's no one else preventing you from doing what you want to do. When you take 100% responsibility for where you are in life, life changes dramatically.
She gets frustrated by EAs who give up and accept that they're not going to some training or seminar because their company won't pay for it. Maggie believes if you don't fund your current self's growth, you deprive your future self - and the other lives that you could possibly impact – of your true potential.
She loves the quote, "if you won't invest in you, why should your company invest in you?" That's what flipped her mindset long ago and got her on the self-investing train.
If you want to increase the value that you bring to your executive, her advice is to create the opportunities to have conversations about getting what you want. The onus is on you.
Nobody's going to knock on your door and say, "Hey, we want to expand your role within the organization." It's on you to find your voice, use your voice, step-up, and show-up. And when you do that, not only do you alter the trajectory of your success and that of the entire executive team, you widen the path for those following in your footsteps. It creates a powerful ripple effect.
According to Maggie, you can either jump into the uncomfortable or stay stuck in your own story's muck.
You’ll find more of Maggie’s sage advice and learn about her remarkable journey in her book, The Elevated EA, which is available on Amazon.

4 年Tony Robbins, when I read the above quote it makes me angry. Proximity is power of the corrupt and does not belong to the majority of people. May be that is why I have never known a janitor to commit financial crimes. More later.
