Are you Anxious?
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6 NIV
I confess: In years past I have lost way too much sleep worrying about things I ultimately knew that I could not control. Even now, I have to deliberately choose to let go of my anxiety, to turn my requests over to God, and trust Him to take care of things. And I know it all happens through prayer.
There truly is a direct correlation between trusting God and praying. Prayer is our way to communicate with our Father, our opportunity to bring before Him our gratitude, needs, and concerns. Sometimes one might think I do not have enough time to pray because I have a zillion other things to do. Boy do I know that feeling well... and I know that feeling is not the truth. Somewhere deep down you and I both know that we always have time to pray.
After all, prayer is not limited to a specific location, nor does it need to be done at a certain time. Simply put, prayer is a way of life. When we pray, we are entrusting our needs to our trustworthy God rather than depending on ourself to make things happen. In essence, unceasing prayer is key to getting close to our heavenly Father. With this He brings supernatural peace, lavishing love on you, His beloved child (If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me! Psalm 66:18–20). So, talk to Him today. He always loves to hear from us.
