Love should almost always be our driving or motivating factor whenever we do something. We should not do things begrudgingly, or selfishly, but out of Love. What I mean by this is, let say for example, giving to charity. One with bad intentions might want to do it to look good for others, to show off! Or, one might want to improve their standing with God, or to make themselves feel better or more moral than other people.
However, if we empathize with the person we are giving our money to, and we see their plight, and have love inside of us, and how we can help bring a smile to them, or ease their suffering, that is a pure intention. One can only act with pure intentions if a) they are motivated purely out of love and compassion and b) if they are aware of their other, more subconscious motivations for their actions.
So, Yes, but you must understand yourself, your emotions, your intentions, and the real reasons we do things, not the ones we tell ourselves. Then, once you have established that, then our intentions can be very pure. It also means you are doing something with the other persons best interests at heart. It is not for any selfish reason, or for the desire of getting something in return, or earning brownie points, or even getting any kind of praise for it whatsoever! It is only for the greater good of all involved.
Somewhat like when someone truly loves you, they want what is best for you-even if it means distancing yourself from them. It’s hard to find people with pure intentions these days. It seems most people only do things because it will benefit them in the long run or make them look good in the present time, but if they hold it over your head and remind you of it often, that means they didn’t have pure intentions.
And people who have pure intentions do things out of the kindness of their heart, even when nobody else is around to see them do it. They do it because they care about being a good human. I like having those kinds of people in my life! Always wonder how can I do something without expecting something in return and there are people who are selfless and their actions are guided by instincts and not logic.
Well, you need not tell them to do charity they will always be ready for it according to me, these people are gifted with this kind of nature or whose nature is not like that can at least try not to expect anything from the action they do or just give your 100 percent and rest live it up to god. By always keeping your thoughts clean n pure and by always thinking good about people you knw and believe them of course then you wont have to think bad about people. They say even yoga helps to purify your thoughts or else try talking someone whom you trust really helps. Cheers!
