You always have options
When we are feeling stuck we think we do not have any options or at least that's what we tell ourselves.?But if we are being honest with ourselves the more likely scenario is that?we have?options, but we don't like them.?
You hate your job and you say you can't leave because you make too much money, or you'll never find work in your desired industry, or you'll let others down.?
You tell yourself you are stuck.?But, you are not.?You are simply?in comfort entitlement (a term I learned from my coach Olivia Vizachero .
And your head is swimming with "should" thoughts.?
"This shouldn't be so hard."
"I should be able to follow my passion and it should pay well."

"I shouldn't have to be a beginner again."
"My partner should support me doing this."
So, actually, I guess you may be stuck, but not in the job, in a way of thinking.?
What if you simply admitted that any likely option available to you will?involve?discomfort, maybe some?risk, some?negative emotions, some pros and some cons.?And nothing has gone wrong.?I promise you always have options. You just may not like them. At least not at first. But I believe in a life filled with growth and change and challenge.?Embracing uncomfortable options can be your fast track to a life you love living.?
EXERCISE If there is an area in your life where you tell yourself you have no other option, but to _____ (stay, go, settle, etc...) write down that situation and then come up with 10 more options. They can be zany. They can be silly. They can be unthinkable. But, there are?options, many of them.?
If you'd like help freeing your brain from linear thinking, dreaming up all sorts of scenarios, getting creative, this is the work I do with clients and I'd love to have a conversation with you about what this could look like in your life. Let's connect on a call?to come up with your 10 options.??

Once you realize this is a thinking problem you can start to shift the way you're looking at the situation, realize you are making a choice, and figure out why you're making it and choose differently if you'd like.
