Are you always handling too much in life?

Are you always handling too much in life?

Got too much on your plate? (How to overcome being overwhelmed)

There are events happening in life that we truly can't control. When the Covid pandemic arises people lost their job, and their loved ones, and unforeseen financial breakdown in families people were overwhelmed with myriad. Between work, family, and personal commitments, life can sometimes leave you thinking, “I feel overwhelmed.” Your responsibilities may be increasing at work and at home. Even the daily news can leave you feeling stressed. Data from the Office for National Statistics show that while the proportion of adults reporting high levels of anxiety has fallen since the start of the pandemic, spiked to about 50 percent, we are still feeling angsty. For the past year that figure has been stuck stubbornly above the 30 percent level, 33 percent in the most recent survey, markedly up from 21 percent at the end of 2019. In such situations, we may feel as if there is simply nothing we can do to make things better. Maybe you've had the experience of trying everything you knew to get a job, to help your family, to make your life better, or just to feel happier. But nothing seemed to work. You might have tried your best, yet still failed, which brought us the fear of trying again. So to avoid being overwhelmed again we should know where it has started.

Genesis of Overwhelming Emotion:

????????????Feeling overwhelmed often starts when we are planning something big for our future. Like planning for a wedding, preparing for a presentation pitch to a client at work, kids' college admission, or something big which makes us feel like there’s no room for anything else. We also feel overwhelmed by a build-up of small things: Maybe your partner is working a lot, but you need more help around the house. Or changes at work have left you with more responsibilities.

Overwhelming emotion can create a cycle of negativity: You feel stressed and anxious, which can make the cat look like a tiger. When you start feeling small things bigger than they are it causes you to feel even more overwhelmed, and the cycle continues. To break this cycle, just take a step back and learn how to deal with feeling overwhelmed in a productive way.

Good News

Is it even possible to break this cycle of negativity? As mentioned earlier we have tried and failed multiple times now we all want to avoid that pain! Because none of us wants to fail again. Nobody wants to give his or her all, only to be disappointed. After a few disappointing experiences, we stop trying! We start believing or, are made to believe that nothing will work.?

If you are at this stage you're not even willing to try now, you've put yourself on a mysterious island of "learned helplessness." You've literally created this island on your own by firmly believing that you're "helpless." The good news is that you're wrong. You can make things happen! You can change anything in your life today by changing your perceptions and changing your actions.

Breaking Bad

?????We all get overwhelmed sometimes but let's take some strategies from? people who deal with it better than others,?

  1. ?Break your limiting beliefs that you have built with your past experiences, as Tony Robbins always says “ Your Past Does not equal your future”. Likewise, your past results do not equal your future results, start stacking certainty and confidence by adding small success ( Following a diet for a day, starting something which u procrastinated for a long time) which can help u build a new belief that you can achieve anything.
  2. Break the identity of being a perfectionist, because perfectionism arises from fear of appearing perfect to others, as sociologist Charles Hooley wrote ” I am not what I think I am, and I am not what you think I am. I am what I think you think I am.” this is like a crushing dread falling on you like a wrecking ball when you are trying to be perfect. So just start doing things you want because being done is better than being perfect.
  3. Break your daily tasks, because sometimes our daily tasks are like one monstrous thing to achieve, so follow the divide and conquer by breaking your daily tasks into smaller and actionable items. This can help you manage your time efficiently and reduce your burden.
  4. Build the practice of mindfulness through meditation which is nearly a universal habit of people who successfully manage overwhelming emotions. Some examples of successful people who practice mindfulness meditation are Jeff Wiener ( CEO- Linkedin), Ophrah Winfrey (American talk show host), Michael Jordon ( NBA Legend), and many more.
  5. Finally, break your silence, and ask for help because when you say I am overwhelmed there is a keyword called I in it. By asking for help or support you can transform that I into We because you are not in it alone. Ask support to your partner to help you when there is a lot on your to-do list, and seek help in the office from a trusted person if your workload is heavy. Even after following all the routines still you feel overwhelmed its time to go for a coach or therapist or counselor.

Remember no problem is permanent. No problem can affect our entire life. So that's the good news just keep your peace and health and everything falls into place.
