You Already Know What You Want.

It's a time of transition for many folks around me ( Happy graduation to some and happy 5 more months until the big day for others, including myself!!) How do we figure out what we want to do? The answer is so simple once you think about it.
What are you passionate about? What invigorates you? What excites you so much that at the end of the day you're still thinking about it? Excited to get back to it? Thinking about ways to improve it?
For me, this moment came to me when I accepted the honor of becoming the CSU SHRM Chapter President. I love getting the chance to add value to this society. I love getting the opportunity to have an impact on the members and discover opportunities to help them grow. I toss and turn at night thinking of ways I can motivate my fellow officers and grow an organization that can help so many people grow in their Human Resource abilities. I get so excited to go to meetings and build relationships with my fellow members that I find my mind spinning with thoughts and ideas that completely engulf my afternoon in intense and enlightening thought. Sometimes it's exhausting in a unique and almost addicting way.
I'm excited for the opportunity to be in a similar situation in my future career now that I know that I find MY energy and passion helping to grow other people and organizations into finding THEIRS. I want to shape the reason OTHER people get excited to think about. I get so excited to think about a company that I'll be able to benefit someday.
Now... take my example and think of your own. It's really easy once you start writing it down! When you really think about the questions above, you realize that you already know what you are supposed to do. Now you just need to get out there and tell everyone that you want to do it. Help us by knowing what you want so we can help you. When you revolve your life around that thing that gets you excited and energized, you'll find yourself more successful than you could have imagined. It's not going to be easy and wonderful EVERY single day, but it's going to be incredibly satisfying and when you look back, you'll feel truly incredible.
